The rooms are reasonably clean and smaller than they look in the pictures. The bathrooms provide soap, shampoo etc in those big dispensers which is ok from a sustainability perspective but a bit ook too. The TV in my room didn't work very well. Biggest problem is the noise, garbage trucks (I think) come down the street very noisily at...

Partner and I stayed here to be close to the Princess theatre - which was literally around the corner. The apartments were also in close vicinity to the city but far enough a way that noise wasn't an issue. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Price was reasonable, room was a great size and beds were comfortable. In all it...

The hotel is located perfectly near three theatres, in a quiet street. It’s clean, with fridge and microwave, also irons and safes. Small but not noticeably so and certainly no smaller than other central city hotels/apartments. Also only one block away from the tramline that runs the full length of the CBD so getting around is super quick and easy.

We stayed here over the New Year from 2015 - 2016 as this was one place that didn't up their prices just for New Year's. The prices were very reasonable for that time of the year. The room was a really good size and the bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating whenever we asked for anything,...

We were in Melbourne for a quick trip and just needed an overnight stay. It's located in a great part of town and only a short walk to the Princess Theatre (kinky boots was on when we were there). Lots of bars, cafes and restaurants as well, but that's just Melbourne isn't it? Parking is very limited with only 7-8...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Locals know that Chinatown is the tried and true place to eat before hitting the nightclub scene. The place simply buzzes, and the well-preserved buildings exude a sense of Imperial China stemming from immigration over a century ago. In restaurant after restaurant on Little Bourke Street, you'll find delicious dishes such as sizzling honeyed prawns, and value for your money. Stately matrons oversee family kitchens serving up age-old recipes. The lighting may be unromantic, the patrons loud, and the service no-nonsense, but the food is sensational.
