Enjoy your stay in Melbourne!
There was a slight smell of decay when we entered our room but the bed was comfortable and the shower had good hot water and pressure. The people at reception were welcoming and there was free parking on site. Good location to walk to South Melbourne restaurants. The sound proofing is good and we couldn't hear the traffic noise from Kingsway.
Not a good place to enjoy your stay. The restaurant was not running though they advertised inside restaurant facility. No drinking water facility available unless you are happy to drink from toilet tap. No microwave oven facility.
Stayed here several times in last six months. Have found it clean, tidy, affordable and centrally located. Reception is open and the staff are friendly and helpful. On this occasion I was advised they do breakfast. I attended the restaurant area by arrangement. Breakfast was terrific. All the more reason for me to come back.
I had made a mistake on my booking and the manager's response was to call me stupid. It caught me so off guard I had to ask him to repeat himself - and he did! Shameless!! All round nasty, aggressive and incredibly shocking from someone who's a manager in the hospitality industry. I would never put myself in a position again of booking a place where someone like him is in charge. He also spoke to my agency rep and they said exactly the same thing, although they were more shaken by it... Strange that the owners allow someone like him to represent them to customers.
We stayed here specifically because of its close vicinity to Station Pier and the Spirit of Tasmania. It is clean and comfortable. The staff member at revel was friendly and helpful. The bed was surprisingly comfortable and the air conditioning was welcome in a very hot day. It’s not luxury but you get what you pay for and it suited us.
