City central is in one of the best location available in Melbourne the rooms are comfortable and despite being in the middle of a busy city were very quiet its location allowed the girls to shop , drop some bags back at the room and then shop some more

While you can definitely tell that the building is a bit older, it doesn't take away from the beauty or the experience. I was in room 503 - a one bedroom apartment with a balcony and it was perfect! Fresh and clean when we arrived. Wonderful location but make sure to follow up with reception on any requests or issues....

We were in 204. The air con wouldn't cool the apartment very well so had to sleep with the windows open but were then woken fup by the pigeons in the alleyway (Not your fault but FYI). House keeping was very efficent, however upon arrival there was hair on some of our towels. The doors to the reception area are...

Great place to stay and easy access to all amenities in the city. Apartment was ample for 2 friends staying the night in the city to attend a concert at Rod Laver arena. Staff were great on check in and held our luggage until check in time. Offered tips for sites around the city.

Very poor nights sleep on first night. Sounded like service trolleys hitting walls next to our room at around midnight. The next night there was a group/gang who entered the building via a guest and gathered in the hallway- around 20 of them. This group caused much disruption and caused the manager to call police as they refused to leave...

It was average. Also, address is very confusing. Intially went to another Mantra on Little Bouke street. Come to know it was City central. For visitor like me in Melbourne is nightmare to drive accross city and learning hook turns.

The loft we stayed in had everything we needed, including a lovely balcony to relax on. The room was clean and the staff were efficient, friendly and helpful...what more could you ask for? Oh, and the price was very reasonable, considering it was the Easter weekend. Thank you Mantra City Central, we will be back!

Our stay was very noisy with our stay interrupted by other people partying or making noises starting after midnight and well into the early hours of the morning to at least 5 am. Good location and friendly staff, just not enough security for the comfort of the guests.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
