We stayed for 2 nights over Valentine's weekend. The location is perfect overlooking the Swan river. We had a King deluxe room which was very large with a sitting area and seperate bedroom. Pool area is small but adequate with bar and food service. Roof top bar has great views however the service is poor, waiting 45 minutes for a cocktail and little interest from staff is not acceptable. A total different experience in the Reef Restaurant where the staff couldn't have been more helpful and genuine the food was exceptional. All up the hotel is very comfortable in a great location. We have stayed at the Ritz Carlton across the road and I would stay again at the Doubletree over the Ritz.

With our 53rd anniversary approaching and a trip to Opera in the Park planned we booked a 2 night stay here as a special treat. We were not to be disappointed. Breakfast does not come as standard and I recommend adding it as an extra. Our room was on the corner on the 9th floor so we overlooked the Belltower on one side and the Supreme Court Gardens on the other (already laid out for the Opera). The room is reasonable in size with a King sized bed and comfy mattress. I have read other reviews about the noise from the Lucky Shag but being on the front of the hotel this was not an issue. We used the 18th floor bar a couple of times, on the first occasion the air con was set so low it was positively icy inside so we opted to go outside instead to warm up. On a slightly negative note, there were no staff to be seen when we arrived for breakfast so we stood around like rather spare parts. Eventually a member of staff found us but aside from asking our room number no other advice was offered. Not so the following day when guests arriving were treated to a tour of the breakfast buffet by attentive staff. Breakfast was tasty but nothing outstanding, I have had better. Finally, where is the toilet brush! It's such an essential part of bathroom equipment.

We had to cancel our stay as Perth went into lockdown for five days as we were only allowed out for essential travel. The guy I cancelled with on the phone said we would receive a refund, one week later no refund so I messaged them and was told it can take up to three weeks, two weeks later still no refund so I rung them, a male took my details and said he would call me back ( he never did) he also said it should only take 10 business days for a refund. Four weeks later and still no refund. Looks like it’s $242 down the drain.
