We had a Christmas function in town on Saturday night - the same night as the Christmas Pageant. We decided it would be easier to catch the train in, to save parking, and stay the night somewhere cheap to avoid taxi cues and costs. The Melbourne Hotel came to the rescue! We didn't need anything fancy, just close walking distance...

This is an older hotel, in a great location that provides value for money for someone looking for good clean accommodation. Bar and Restaurant food is of top quality and for a Pub above average Will stay again when in Perth

We are a couple in our early 50's that have stayed in quiet a few hotels in Perth CBD. Compared to other accommodation we found this very expensive for what you receive. Breakfast was included in the price, which was very very nice. Yes location is great, rooms are very clean but they are old.

First of all, the location is in the heart of the city. It's not the cheapest accommodation, but considering you can walk to absolutly everything in the city it's money well spent. This is a classic four stars hotel. It's a little tired, and could use some upgrading, but still has its charm. Unfortunately the rooms has no windows, wich...

Might have been good after its renovation but it is sadly very tired now. Carpets and curtains are torn and my room had an air conditioner that sounded like a pneumatic drill. No information how to contact reception so I tried all numbers and somebody answered. They changed my room very swiftly but after a few minutes the aircon made...

This review relates to a Classic Double Queen Room on the second floor. This is an old hotel with a lot of history. It is well maintained, and the lift (elevator) is an original! It doesn't look all that inviting from the street; however, it has a charm, and has well maintained rooms, with all that is required. A good...

We went for High Tea at the Melbourne Hotel on a Saturday afternoon. When we arrived we were unsure where to go. The staff in the bar were very friendly telling us where we needed to be and what time the restaurant was open. As we were early we decided to stay in the bar and have a drink while...

Love the history in this place, beautiful decor and authenticity. Rooms are pretty basic but have everything you need. Great location for the city and local restaurants and bars. A bit of a shame parking is an extra cost. Customer service was fine.

This review is based on a Groupon Voucher Deal at The Melbourne. High Tea cost $59 for two including a glass of sparkling. Normally this would be approx. $49pp so on the face of it, excellent value. Saturday pm seemed to be the time for accommodating customers for vouchers as the dining room soon filled up with others having similar...

“There may be some better rooms in the hotel. We didn't ask because we were exhausted after our journey and didn't want the hassle of moving all of our stuff. I would definitely avoid the loft rooms.”
