I stayed in a standard room (one without a window) which was a decent size. The hotel is very upfront when you book that there is no window so I had no problem with that and the size of the room ensured that it wasn't that noticeable. What I did have a problem with was the amount of mould growing... More

If you are a miner, mole or perhaps Dracula you will appreciate the fact that a standard room has no windows therefore preventing your rest being disturbed by natural light. Unfortunately as I am not one of the above I felt claustrophobic rather than elated by this shortcoming. The real downside though is that a lack of light and ventilation... More

Stayed for one Saturday night with a deal that included breakfast... Was a good deal & don't know where else in central Perth you can stay for this price that includes a good breakfast... Our room was comfortable & clean... Bed was good & staff friendly... No on site parking but we parked in a loading zone just around the... More

I only ate here and slept elsewhere. However I loved the bar/restaurant and came back here several times. There are lots of great value Asian restaurants in Perth but if you want something else and don't want to spend a small fortune then the Melbourne is absolutely worth a visit.

I reported on this hotel after a stay in November last year. Back again for a few days business. generally its a nice older style hotel in a good location which could very easily be really excellent. Room accommodation is generally okay and the beds are comfy. The restaurant downstairs is very good with great food. It unfortunately is unloved... More

Lovely old heritage building but the room I stayed in was very out dated. Paint was peeling from the wall and the cover of my ironing board had a dirty big coffee stain on it. I stayed here for a business trip and was forced to park at public car park as the hotel does not have its own. It... More

The Melbourne Hotel is an old hotel which has been refurbished. The building is beautiful and has lots of character. We stayed in a Superior Balcony Room. The room was clean and well furnished. The bathroom is bright and modern. The shower was an adjustable height shower which I love as I"m not very tall, but hotel showers always seem... More

If fake country pine furniture from the pine shop. In a makeover in the 80s is your idea of the old Melbourne hotel. Then this overpriced lacklustre service hotel is for you. At 300 dollars a night for a 'superior room' on the balcony on the corner of a busy CBD street, this must be the best superior delusion that... More

“There may be some better rooms in the hotel. We didn't ask because we were exhausted after our journey and didn't want the hassle of moving all of our stuff. I would definitely avoid the loft rooms.”
