Neat and tidy but outdated, old and in need of a good renovation. If you are looking for a bed and shower this is for you. Not a honeymoon location. First room stank of smoke. Quickly moved with no fuss. TV and A/C also needed repair again with no fuss. It's 2.5 star (inside camping) and is just fine for...

Lovely hotel. Well known in Perth as the oldest licenced hotel. Rooms were medium size but well furnished. Bathroom was large and well appointed. My room didn't have a particularly interesting view, but I didn't need one. If you do, just ask for a front room. Loved all the old windows and staircases. Charming!

Bathroom was dirty, certain areas had definitely not been cleaned for a while as they had thick layers of dust. The shower head in our room was broken, wouldn't stay up. The shower would only be steaming hot or freezing cold, no in between. Staff were quite rude. Never said hello when we were at the desk, just last name,...

First impressions not good as reception really needs an upgrade, also strong smell of food. However twin room was spacious and clean with all facilities provided ie tea/coffee, minibar, aircon but no headboards. Had to pay $100 dollars cash deposit on arrival. Staff were very helpful. Offered discount on first meal and a free soft drink. Restaurant was open to...

After reading all the recent reviews we were very dubious about staying here. However we were pleasantly surprised. Yes the hotel is old and quaint and yes it could probably do with being updated, yes the views from the room were of an alleyway but the hotel is located in the court district with lots of buildings around it so...

This hotel does have everything you need - a bed, a washroom, a mini-fridge. However, everything is incredibly outdated. There are tons of dings and chips in the walls, very old comforters, blankets and furniture. Our toilet didn't work (but was quickly fixed), and the shower head was falling off. It was totally fine for our needs as we weren't...

My wife and I booked into the Criterion Hotel in Perth for a two- night stay in August 2016. This is the high season for hotels in Perth, so we paid AUD 153.00 per night for this allegedly 3 star hotel with breakfast. The reception area was extremely shabby. The room we were given was even shabbier. There was one...

We booked through Booking.com and chose this hotel because we were being collected from there for a 9 day tour. Great central location and a good price for that BUT we were dismayed at the state of the rooms and public areas. This hotel was neglected and in poor decorative condition. Yes it was clean but that's about all I...

For a start the picture they are using is NOT the hotel! That's a bad start. The whole hotel needs updating. Wifi is next to useless. We only stayed there because we were being picked up from that location.

Room was average. Noted old mould areas that had been painted over. I had to ask for extra towels for night 2. The building is old, would benefit from a good renovation. Location is prime. Close to everything in the cbd and elizabeth quay. Staff very helpful. All in all 5/10 stay.
