It was ok. There wasn't really that much to do. If I'm entirely honest, I feel like the tours over there are only to capitalise on the potential tourism market when really they don't have too much to offer. Many other parts of New Zealand already do the same things better. I would save the money.

On a visit to Waiheke I learned that it is the world's second weediest island. Beaten only by Hawaii. This is too the shame of the many millionaires that live there. There are probably few dandelions in their well manicured lawns but do they know about the moth plant, Japanese honeysuckle and many, many other invasive weeds strangling the native...

Visited on a day trip on a sunny winter day. Just gorgeous! I've instantlyfallen in love. Friendly people, nice beaches, excellent wine and food. Did the 2h bus tour with Flemmings (or similar), was nice to see the different areas of the island.

We were there in late March 2015. The place is pretty, there are gorgeous wineries on the island, and the ferry ride from Auckland to the island was spectacular. But getting around on the island, once there, is challenging. The lack of public transportation there is appalling. We had no car. Taxis were rare.

I took the ferry early morning from Auckland and arrived 40 minutes later at this lovely Island. Being a wine lover what a great place to visit. I walked between vineyards, upp the hills on marked routes and did some lovely tastings at selected spots. I feel obligated to let you know of this hidden pearl.

This little island is absolutely amazing. We spent 17 days in New Zealand and Waiheke was our favourite. The island gives you a real holiday feel. Everyone is happy and relaxed and so friendly. We stayed in an amazing bach holiday rental on Burelle street which was a great location. The colour of the water was unreal. Beautiful beaches, great...

Great views, beautiful blue and awesome weather. Had a relaxing day at the beach with my hubby celebrating our anniversary:) We had a delicious platter with wine at the Mudbrick Vineyard. September is a good month to visit as it isn't as crowded as the summer months

My colleague & I went to Waiheke Island on whim when our hotel told us at 8am that our rooms soul not be ready until 3pm. Not what one wants to hear after 30 hours of travel. Thankfully, our concierge pointed us in the direction of a little adventure on Waiheke. An easy ferry ride from the Auckland Ferry Terminal,...

Only a 35 min Ferry trip from Quay Street Auckland awaits an Island that's a special blend of spectacular beaches, wineries, olive groves +++ The people, eclectic a bunch they may be are welcoming and laid back. You to will welcome the journey back in time that this oasis of the Gulf provides. Art also features strongly here - all...
