The Four Points by Sheraton Auckland garners commendation for its soothing atmosphere and modern, well-lit rooms, though some guests find the room sizes to be on the smaller side. Nestled in a quieter part of Queen Street, its central location remains a hit with travelers for easy access to local attractions and dining options.
The hotel's cleanliness and comfortable beds are frequently highlighted, as is the warm service, despite occasional inconsistencies in the restaurant. While some mention costly food, the overall value is considered favorable by guests who appreciate the amenities and the hotel's reasonable pricing.

Detailed Reviews
Unfortunately our stay here didn't start well. We had advised the hotel that after in effect 2 days traveling from the UK we would be arriving around 06-30 and would appreciate an early check-in. It was confirmed although this would be (naturally) subject to availability. Upon arrival I asked at reception if we could check in now and that was not a problem. We filled in all the necessary forms, signed the room rate and were asked for our credit card. The room rate was expensive due to Elton John being in town (subsequently cancelled!) and a room charge plus $200 was taken from my credit card. At that point the receptionist said there were no rooms available and check in was 3pm!
I totally understand that if a hotel hasn't got any rooms then they can't give us one but the impression until the presentation of the credit card was that there was a room available.
We camped in reception and after an hour or so we were offered a complimentary coffee. I asked if there was anywhere to shower, we had been in the same clothes for 2 days and we were advised we could use the shower in the gym that we did.
Once light and clean the hotel stored our luggage and we went downtown.
This is where the Sheraton comes into its own, its location is approx a 15 minute walk from the harbor area where there is considerable construction work taking place that must be noisy for guests at more centrally located hotels. Surrounding the hotel and within a 5 minute walk are a number of restaurants (particularly recommend Tony's Steakhouse) and you are also only 3 minutes from Albert Park which is delightful.
The rooms we had on floor 7 was fine and quiet. The room had a shower, no bath. The shower was particularly badly designed and flooded the room so towels had to be placed on the floor to try and cope with the water spreading!
The gym is pretty small but adequate.
We did not eat or drink in the hotel so cannot comment on these services.

We stayed here for two nights and it was our first stop in NZ after a long flight and the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The location is very good and the Sky Tower, harbor and Viaduct are a short walk down Queen Street. The room was definitely very small and the view was of construction crews ( we were told it was an upgrade for my Platinum Elite Bonvoy membership) but it was cleaned well, had complimentary water, tea and coffee and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety and an excellent chef made us omelettes to order. However the coffee was weak and surprisingly not at all up to standard for the quality of the breakfast buffet. The lobby area is small but efficient and this is a good hotel for a short sojourn in Auckland

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
This property is new, with nice rooms and common facilities and it is an easy 15 min walk to anything in the city center.
As a Platinum, I was upgraded to a corner room which has surround windows and a larger living space and bathroom. In addition, you receive 20% off food and beverage including at the awesome rooftop Churchill bar (though this apparently does not apply when a happy hour is in effect and the discount wasn’t reflected on my bills - I had to ask at checkout).
Breakfast was good but nothing to write home about - a reasonable buffet and the included coffee is basic drip.
The gym is very small but new equipment. I recommend the City Fitness that is a block away on Queen St if you want a full gym.
Also, something I didn’t discover for awhile is the secret entrance on Queen St - the door is almost unmarked but it is on the second level and avoids the walk around the corner into the main lobby. It also is directly next to a SkyBus stop (#14) which is super convenient for going to/from the airport.

We spent one night in a 2 bedroom top floor sweet and it was awesome! Staff was friendly and although a splurge felt like great value. We had a great view of the Skytower and it was NYE and the fireworks were excellent. The nicest surprise was room service - -a menu with more choice than typical and the infamously risky room service pizza was even delicious, as was the Butter Chicken and Caesar Salad. Valet sets you back $50 but worth avoiding the 5 or 6 block walk to off-sight self park.

We were going to give this hotel 4 stars since we weren’t thrilled with the breakfast options and were surprised that our titanium elite status did not qualify us for complimentary cappuccino at breakfast (which it did at the Four Points Sheraton in Melbourne and in Sydney).
But then we met Emma. But sure if she is a concierge or regular front desk staff but wow!—she is magical! We were getting frustrated that all the tours to Rotorua were booked and the train to The Glow worm caves was sold out. She searched online, in print brochure, and called several your companies until she found us a tour to both! She was gracious and professional beyond our expectations—dedicated to solving our problem and finding something great to do on Christmas Eve day. We were so appreciative that it totally upped our assessment of this hotel!
Other positives: GREAT location! Simple, fast walk to anywhere in Auckland! And an extra bonus—the Skybus ticket office and pick up stop is directly below the front desk—just take the elevator downstairs.
This is really the best Bonvoy option in New Zealand. We were surprised through that they treat their Bonvoy members so inconsistently. A staff member was carrying several trays of macaroons to guests and we rode up the elevator with her. She said they were for Bonvoy members. We said we were Titanium Elite and did not receive them. She shrugged and said some guests qualify and others don’t. I don’t understand since Titanium Elite is the highest level. Oh well, with all the great food in Auckland we didn’t need the extra calories.
Good place to stay. Wonderful views of the city. And the bathroom was huge!! With a tub and shower!

This is the worst service I've ever received from a hotel, totally ruined our stay.
We were there on business and had 3 rooms being paid for online by the company that was putting us up. They asked for my personal card for incidentals which was fine but they ended up charging 2 room rates plus incidentals on my card as soon as I handed it over even after explaining right from the start that the rooms were already paid for by the company. Was disappointing to have $834 charged to my personal credit card when I really needed the money on there for my stay in Auckland. But the person who booked me in assured me that it would be "released" back on to my credit card that same day. That was Saturday, today is Wednesday and it still hasn't been refunded after talking to 7 different people assuring me it would then take 3 business days from the Saturday. Another phone call today and it's now "3-5 business days" to refund. Plus if we want to hear from the manager it will take another 3 business days to hear back? Why so long?? They just keep fobbing me and my husband off - not impressed!!! I do not recommend staying here, many other hotels in Auckland cheaper and better service! We run a business, I know how long it takes to refund someone's credit card. Definitely not 5 days! They now have double the payment for those rooms and no one seems to really care to sort it. If I don't have that money back on my card by Friday I will be taking action.

Dear deew123456789, Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and I would like to extend my sincerely apologies for falling short of meeting your expectations. I have investigated this situation further and can confirm that the amount mentioned is only a pre-authorisation hold and not a charge to your card. This pre-authorisation was released on the day of your departure from the hotel. Pre authorisation cancellation process normally takes a local bank 3-5 business days to completely adjust the amount off in your statement and the charge will completely disappear from your statement instead of showing as a credit to your account. I understand your frustration and have already reached out to issuer bank to try and speed up the adjustment process. I believe that our duty manager has also reached out to you to clarify this. Once again, my apologies for the inconvenience and I assure you that we have done everything we can to speed up this process. Please note that the pre-authorisation is not a charge, we are not eligible for the fund hence we are not able to process the refund. Should you require further clarification or any further assistance, please feel free to contact me direct on details below. Best regards, Stam Klongvessa Front Office Manager Four Points by Sheraton Auckland stam.klongvessa@fourpoints.com 64 9 393 8240

Noticed some guests were offered complimentary welcome drinks. As Gold Elite member was not offered one during a late night check in past 1030 pm. No available upgrades offered for Gold Elite member either.
Two deluxe queen rooms were adequately large and fits 3 adults quite comfortably. Amenities include free bottled water, security safe, ward robes, hair blower, lotion, shampoo, etc. Rooms were dated but with very clean white sheets and cleaned very by staff daily. Tooth brush kits have to requested. There were security cameras every where. Need key to access elevator to the room. Lobby is quite small.
There are 2 entrances and exits either by Mayoral Street or by Queens Street ( via elevator level 2)
There are plenty of restaurants (Asian - Korean, Japanese, Chinese) along Queens Street which stretches long the way down to the Port of Auckland. Nice brisk walk down hill for about 20 minutes.
Behind the hotel ( Mayoral Street) there is a small convenience store and a couple of small hole in the wall Chinese noodle shops. Across there is Korean and Japanese restaurant. Across Queens Street there is Japanese sushi restaurant.
Overall pleasant stay and had a late courtesy check extended to 2 p.m. Would have been nicer if extended longer considering we checked in late almost midnight.

We just got home after spending 8 nights at the Four Points Sheraton Auckland. We were well looked after while we waited to get a flight home during this unsettling time. The hotel was in a great location, rooms were modern and c comfortable but it's truly the staff that made the difference. It was a tense time waiting to see if flights were still going out. We literally camped out in the hotel with small outings to get fresh air. The staff was so friendly, helpful, professional and compassionate. The food at Queens Head Grill was top notch. We want to say thank you for making such a difficult time easier. The SkyBus to the Airport is literally outside their Queen Street exit. I will be back. If you get a chance to stay there, please be generous with your gratuities these people have taken a pay cut to keep more staff working.

The Four points Sheraton hotel is conveniently situated next to a skybus stop in the heart of the city. We arrived 3 am in the morning on the 14th of January. We were welcomed by friendly staff on our arrival. The night shift duty staff gave us good advice to join as a member which saved us lots of money during our 5 day stay. Every day we had an amazing buffet breakfast. The waiters were very friendly. In particular Alex who would advise us each day on the best places to visit. Overal the hotel was great and we would highly recommend coming here

Nice room. Breakfast buffet was nice but you had to pay extra for a cappachino coffee. There was no elite lounge for Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite members. If you are going there from the cruise port, use a metered taxi as it I much cheaper than the vans at the port.

Taxi from the airport costs about NZ$70. The stop for the Sky Bus is right in front of the hotel, bus ticket costs NZ$17, It is fast and comfortable
No , the hotel does not office a shuttle service to the airport but the airport bus leaves from below the hotel. The cost is far cheaper than a taxi.
No, not at all.
Uber is best choice, my taxi was appx 84NZ dollars.
