The view from our 11th floor room was fantastic Shame I couldn't say that about the rest of the hotel. The room was 'tired'. It needs updating. Steps in reception to the lifts with no ramps makes case lifting and disabled access difficult; this alone indicates the need for a refurbishment. The breakfast room is very cramped. The hotel is...

This hotel has an absolute perfect position near the waterfront except that it is also near the weekend nightspots and is therefore noisy. The porterage was poor as was the staffing at breakfast. They do not cater for more than one tour group at a time. Staff trty their best. There is just not enough of them.

We have stayed at the Copthorne Harbour City three times (9 nights) over the last 8 weeks, and only because it was all precooked with a tour. About all going for it is the location (mostly-see below) and the cheap price for a harbor view. Also Happy Hour in the bar is nice. What we like is the view of...

The good: Great location - right on Quay st so the whole Harbor scene is at your disposal. 24hr convenience store w/ a subway directly across the street. All the bars on the waterfront are a 2 minute walk just to the left. The bad: Getting on in age - this hotel is in need of a serious upgrade. I...

The worst of the worst .. Stayed here for a night .. Checked in, room had no air condition. Upon mentioning it to the management, they gave us a small table fan. Around midnight, the head board on the bed fell over, called the management (AMAR), who was very apologetic, and was kind enough to offer 1/2 off the room....

No faulting staff at all, in fact would complement Esther Park very highly. The bed was lumpy and the bedding was smelly, old and tired. The pillows were the worst I have ever had in a hotel. The bathroom was dirty and worn out. We chose this hotel for the Copthorne reputation but this one lets you down completely. I...

Great location near the harbor however room allocated had an old sock tied around the shower head, clear missed by the cleaning staff. Second room offered had light mold around the bath room tiles. A lot of street noise even though room on tenth floor. Archaic WiFi and additional charges made when settling account for use of credit or debit...

We booked this hotel as a one night stay just to go to a concert. The view out from our room was directly out to the harbour which was nice. But, the lobby and lifts reeked of cigarette smoke. The room is old and tired, and the bathroom had some terrible patch up jobs trying to hide old leaks or...

We were there for a tourism conference and booked a couple of extra nights, the website is very different to what your room and the bar actually looks like. Checked in at around 9.30pm Auckland time and was told the restaurant was closed and to walk down to the viaduct area to find a cafe/bar, which we did. However they...
