Stayed for the night as visiting Families. As we can't go overseas we spend more time in NZ. We find some hotels in City to Noisy and over priced. This Hotel, / B+B tucked all the right boxes. Staff friendly, Manager owner very pleasant. Room great and quiet .off Street parking and breakfast. Highly recommend.

This is a very lovely private home away from home just around the corner from all the cafes and shops of Ponsonby. I felt very well looked after by the Patrick the manager and Max and the team and enjoyed the relaxed homey atmosphere.

the location was and is the best of this place. the room and decoration was anything but average and no art was seen by us, the breakfast room was nineteen-fiftees in britain and the asian reception person was very hard to understand. the neighbouring room made noises when flushing the toilet so loud that it blocked out our tv-sound 'spectre' was on... we left without the breakfast even when we had booked and paid for it. but overall: the location is priceless especially when all you want is a sunday afternoon and evening plus a monday morning on ponsonby.

Really does feel like home! Not precious or sterile, the Arthotel has stories on the walls, in the books and the very bones of the place. Take shabby chic and elevate it to a soft polished elegance, then add friendly with a free welcome drink, a great shower and a hearty breakfast. This is our 'local hotel' when in Auckland. Thanks again!
