I've known the owners of their bed and breakfast for quite some time. However, I think I got to know them even better now that I had the chance to stay at their establishment 2 weeks ago (yes I know this review is long awaited). I was assigned to stay in the "Morning Room", a name that is as peaceful...

We arrived tired and travel weary and were greeted with a cup of tea and walking recommendations. As we settled in on our darling little porch with a glass of wine before dinner, our wonderful hosts joined us and we had a most enlightening talk about the Ponsonby section of Auckland which is easy to navigate and interesting. Breakfast was...

A friendly B and B in a traditional villa that serves a great breakfast. Its near to a varying selection of restaurants and shops and has good access to the city. The villa has interesting hosts who provide a wealth of information about their home and the surrounding area.

This B&B is located in a neighborhood with lots of good restaurants that are within walking distance which is very convenient. The B&B itself is very nice with a homey feel. Great breakfast choices are included. Our only concern is the lack of air conditioning. It was cool while we were there but if the temperature was in the 80's...

Thank you for your positive review - we think the location is great as well! We do our best to make guests feel comfortable, so we are glad that you felt at home with us. As almost all of the windows can be opened (and have mosquito screens on them to keep the bugs out), we have found that providing...

I loved my stay here. This is really nice b&b with great beds and wonderful breakfast. The eggs Benedict was delicious, I had it almost every morning. I stayed in the orange room which was perfect for me. It had a sitting area mini kitchen and a great bed. It was at the end of a building away to on...

Thank you for such a lovely review! We loved having you stay and certainly hope you will be back again to visit the things that you missed - especially Tiritiri Matangi, which is an absolute gem. We are so pleased that you were happy with your room and with the service we provided. Being able to go the extra mile...

Deceptively large period villa in a trendy Auckland suberb half an hour's walk from city centre. We had the penthouse which was large and comfortable with orientall carpets. A kitchen and dining area were useful. The balcony was great but no shade if very sunny. A lovely sitting room with CDs, and books were one can meet other guests. The...

Thank you for taking the time to write such a positive review. We are glad that you were able to make use of the amenities that we had to offer, including our common areas and book collection. Luckily tea has become quite trendy again, so we have been able to refill our stocks of less-common leaf teas - after all,...

I have visited the Great Ponsonby twice with my family during my visit to New Zealand. It is located perfectly in the Ponsonby area, where you will find decent shops and restaurants away from the typical tourist hassle. On the other side you have easy and fast access to downtown using the inner link bus. The hotel itself is very...

Great wee hotel - a collection of individual studios and the house itself which is of the old wooden style throughout this area. Quirky and homely - we had a room in the house. It was small but lovely, with a small patio area to have a glass of wine and soak up the sun. Staff very helpful and went...

Stayed one night on arrival from Hong Kong. Given a pot of coffee on arrival and thorough briefing then shown to our room at 11am. Green room had everything we needed plus microwave and a stocked fridge of drinks at reasonable prices. Walked down to the city and back although the inner circuit bus is available at $3 each way....

The rooms are eclectic, staff are very friendly and helpful. However we were in the Blue room which was wheelchair accessible (and for that is great) but the WIFI wasn't working and the the room wasn't that clean (toenail on the floor) . For an expensive B&B really not acceptable.

We are also appalled there was a toenail on the carpet. We have discussed this with all our staff and think we know how it happened. When a room is set up for a wheelchair it is differently configured. It was a very busy morning and our crew worked flat out to get it ready . Unfortunately they forgot to...
