Best room every.. thought it may be too close to the bar and stairwell... But the place has been very well soundproofed. Wife loved the bath.. The shower was fantastic. Staff were attentive, Breakfast was awesome, and im never a fan of hotel breakfast. Bed was fantastic, so comfortable.. The whole hotel actually smelt awesome.. sounds weird.. but it did.....

This is a kitschy kind of place, kind of retro 1960-70. What impressed me a lot was watching about six staff cleaning the small lobby/entranceway at one time. This place was about service. People were very attentive. There is an internal restaurant that is a great public space with a great continental breakfast. There is a drawing room for guests...

Definitely one of the best hotels that I have stayed in within NZ. Boutique feel and really personal. Very accommodating and thoughtful. For our anniversary they really helped to make it special, drinks in or room and designer dessert. Great location 5/5. Hidden away but very central. Clean 5/5 Noise 5/5 Great insulation. Food 5/5 Staff 5/5 there when you...

Wonderfully located hotel; very comfortable, quiet and stylish rooms; lovely guest lounge/library where the duty manager hosted complimentary pre-dinner drinks each evening. At other times guests could access an honesty bar. Staff were personable, efficient and helpful. The light-filled atrium restaurant was a great venue for breakfast. We had dinner at the restaurant on our first night. While the menu...

I would not recommend this hotel. They gave me a room with bars in the bathroom for the disabled and an internal window. They failed to give me a wake up call and I nearly missed my day tour. They were rude about failing to give me the wake up call and said that I "missed it."

We arrived at the Hotel DeBrett after over 30 hours of travel and we could not have chosen a better hotel. Lovely boutique hotel, well located, super staff and FABULOUS restaurant. Exhausted, we thought we would just go to the hotel restaurant and eat something so-so. We ended up having the best meal we had on the North Island -...

We would have loved to spend more time here. The staff is excellent. The rooms are modern, beautiful and inviting. It feels more like a condo than a hotel. Our room had the bedroom upstairs which was nice. The bathroom was huge and well appointed. We will be back!

We stayed there to celebrate my girlfriend birthday, and it was a really nice experience. Professional and friendly staff, great room - especially the bed ! so comfy - and a lot of charm. Doesn't earn 5 stars because of breakfast a bit poor compared to the rest, which would propel it to luxury hotel if it was more compelling...

Not sure what else to add to all the other fantastic reviews! Beautiful boutique hotel, 2 floors only, very nice design throughout, restaurant especially. We had a room with a small Juliet balcony facing inside, into he restaurant itself - we thought we might it might be noisy while breakfast is being prepared but it was exceptionally quite. Breakfast was...
