Beautiful place - historical, interesting decor, clean. Our room had a gorgeous iron bath tub equipped with epson salts! May seem little but ive never stayed anywhere that had any sort of bath anythings!? John and Mel (the owners) were super friendly and were great company. John is full of information and stories and he was happy to share. Breakfast...

Insert boiler plate review here for a world class, old-world charm, lovely B&B. Every bit of a 5 star deserving property. Where I'd like to call attention is to the hosts John and Mel. They go above and beyond to treat their guests like royalty. I had a nasty battle with some food poisoning (picked up in Sydney) and John...

We really felt for you when you arrived not feeling the best. I'm so glad the lemon and ginger tea helped to settle your digestion and the old standby "hearty chicken soup" got you up and about in no time. It was lovely having your little family here. Thank you for your appreciation of what we have. Bon voyage.

We've been to stay at John's a couple of times now and every time we think of accommodation in Auckland, the Braemar is top of our list. Dog friendly. Yes, that's right. Dog friendly and in the CBD. And an exquisitely restored period property. If you want 5 Star soul-less could-be-anywhere accommodation, don't waste John's time on the phone. If...

The Victorian Room is amazing, topped only by the hospitality and warm welcome from John & Mel. I loved the comfortable bed, the authentic decor and the great sleep in the surprisingly quiet room even though it is in the middle of the central city. I also love the fact that the place is animal friendly - if you want...

Braemer is centrally located and a short walk to the wharfs and all its facilities and restaurants. We enjoyed a very homely experience which provided a very pleasant place to stay and relax. The service we received during our stay was exceptional which made our stay so memorable

We can't say enough about the friendly and helpful folks at the Braemar -- a classic hotel, saved by our host John 22 years ago. We were treated like family from the first instant to our sad goodbyes. Expect a simply wonderful breakfast (ask for the mushroom eggs). This is a gem and will be one of your favorite B&B's...

Stayed for a couple of nights and were over whelmed with the hospitality of John and his lovely wife. We felt like we were visiting family as they made us feel so welcome. The house is in an ideal location to cafes, restaurants and bars Breakfast was delicious and most satisfying We all slept so well and wanted to take...

Braemar on Parliament Street is a Bed and Breakfast located near the University of Auckland, City Campus, the Albert Park and many other sites of interest in Auckland. It is located on a quiet side street that nevertheless is in walking distance to many interesting sites, including the harbour, the bustling Queen Street as well as to the second drop...

We had a lovely peaceful one night's stay in this little forgotten piece of Auckland's history. John and Mel (and Tina) were very friendly and hospitable. Great breakfast. Highly recommended. We would stay again.

This was my first encounter - being a pleasant surprise. I called very late and John was awesome, nothing was a problem just drive to the front door and we'll work everything out. I had two nights there and my friends were welcomed into their home and made feel very comfortable. On the first morning I was running late and...
