Yes, it is very "quaint" with the high ceilings etc but I just could not cope with the airless, windowless bedroom and only a small fan that didnt always work (had to take it apart one night to fix it). I tried leaving the lounge room windows open but the noise from the street was unbearable and didnt help in...

We arrived in Auckland in the evening, after a long flight, with an 18 month old. We collected our rental car, and went into the city wanting to just chill out in what seemed to be a quaint 'old-style' hotel. And it is that, but....... there wasn't as much chillin' as was hoped. We had read about noise issues in...

Stayed here in June 2006. Location is as good as you can get being right in the middle of the CDB and only minutes walk to the waterfront. Our one-bedroom apartment (only cost NZ$10 more than a studio) was well-equipped with washing machine, stove, fridge, microwave, etc. More importantly, the apartment was very clean and, as a bonus, was also...

We stayed in these apartments in March 2006. First impression was not good. We arrived on international flight at 7pm and found hotel reception locked. Nearby businesses were no help in answering our queries. A short time later a staff menber arrived, she had been away for 15 mins. I suggested that if reception was to be unattended a notice...

Stayed in a studio apartment and was very impressed by the facilities and decor with beautiful heritage features, high ceilings, and very comfy sofa. A nice alternative to your usual CBD hotels. Fully equipped kitchen right down to a bottle opener and spare bin bags, and a massive fridge. Ideal for self-catering on a weekend stay. There is a supermarket...

Stayed here for two nights in March 2006. Found hotel quite easily as is on the corner of Wellesley St (well signposted off highway)and Elliott St. Entrance literally on the corner of the block and reception up a flight of stairs. First impressions were a very nicely furnished hotel. Receptionist very friendly, too. Apartment was unbelievable. For the rate we...

Rooms were fine and well furnished and clean. But had really bad expereince in dealing with the general manager (on the phone in the hotel) we had booked two rooms (two families with children) and one of the bunk beds had no safety bar on the top (it had been taken off) the one in our room was ok. Our...
