The B&B is easy to find and parking is no problem. We loved the well decorated "president suite" with a spacious bathroom and a comfortable bed. The owners are very friendly and Donald did some great home cooking ( breakfast and treats). The neigbourhood is lovely and feels save. There are lots of restaurants and bars at a close walk... Thank you for the breakfast accolade, the one cooked dish (something different each morning) along with home made bread, cereals and fruit platters is certainly being well received. It gives me a chance to be creative with our daily dish and being named by your good self of Parisian origin as an excellent chef (I would say a Petite Dejeuner... More

We stayed at Sunderland House for one night on News Years Day and were very sad we could only be there for such a short stay. We can't imagine there are many, if any, B and Bs that are better than this anywhere. It is beautifully decorated with all the spaces having been designed with an incredible level of detail.... Donald & Cathy make you very welcome at their wonderful home. Very clean & comfortable rooms - beautifully appointed. Amazing, fresh and varied breakfasts and after a 25 hour flight from the UK a good nights sleep! We stayed here as part of our motorcycle tour 8th/9th December 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed it. An excellent place to stay in Auckland... More

Sunderland House was our first B&B in NZ and Donald gave us a really warm welcome. The room is cosy and the breakfast is amazing (special mention to the mushrooms). Sunderland House location is unbeatable: it is quiet, a few minutes walking from Ponsonby road, easy to park and well connected with the city centre by bus.

It never ceases to amaze us that we never fail to please and are always grateful for TripAdvisor reviews. Thank you - The mushrooms hopefully will still be on the menu if you plan to return to Auckland although the menu does change everyday with our one cooked dish option, Kind regards Donald & Kathy Sunderland More

This B&B fully deserves its high rating. After a very long flight from London, we wanted to get over our jet lag, unwind and get to know Auckland a little before travelling to the south. We were made welcome from the moment we arrived. We had the red room, it met our needs exactly. Donald and Kathy were very helpful... More
