We traveled NZ in a family of 9, from a 6-year-old little girl to a 80-year-old granddaddy. Unanimously, we all agree that staying in Shailers was the highlight of our trip - excellent food, comfortable beds and house, beautiful garden, and of course warm hospitality from the host Charlie and Dianna. Charlie could remember the Chinese names of some of...

Hello Ernie, we enjoyed hosting you and your family so much at Shailers. Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to your returning one day. Perhaps in our spring next time. September is a good month to be involved with the baby calves and baby goats, however it is also colder and wetter. Best wishes, Charlie and Dianna

The Shailers home was the most wonderful way for us to begin our vacation in New Zealand! From being greeted by name as we arrived by Diana to traveling by ATV around the farm and even learning to milk the cows with Charlie it was peaceful, delightful and fun! We then shared a bottle of New Zealand Chardonnay and learned...

Hi Joyce, We were thinking after you left of the song, 'It's a small world after all....' we really enjoyed having you and David stay with us and definitely much too short a stay. You had a lot to do in a week so you had to keep moving. Thank you for taking the time to submit a review. We...

Set in lovely rolling countryside a few kilometers west of Hamilton, this small B&B does everything perfectly. First, the premises, and especially the manicured gardens are gorgeous. The rooms are well furnished and very comfortable. The deck, with broad, sweeping views, is inviting. And the location (15 minutes to Hamilton, less than an hour to Waitomo Caves or Raglan, about...

The hospitality began in the doorway upon arrival and continued to the farewell scene in front of the house! We met a room with flowers and access direct to the deck. If we ever get back to NZ our first choice will be farm stay at Dianna and Charlie. Great dinner on the deck - Dianna spend the afternoon preparing...

We stayed with Charlie and Dianna on the last night of our trip. It was a wonderful experience. Charlie greeted us as we drove up and we felt so welcome. The room was beautiful and the views amazing. The bathroom was clean and large. We had dinner on the deck outside. The meal Dianna prepared was one of the very...

Dianna & Charlie are the most accommodating and welcoming hosts. We booked a room for a photoshoot, what we got was way more than just a room. It was a pleasant, safe and inviting location for our ladies to relax and enjoy some adult time. As well as getting pampered at the same time. Thank you again Dianna & Charlie...
