Stayed for one night in a double room. Room was quite small however there was plenty of space in the hostel to hang out when not sleeping. Reasonable value given the central location and nice clean room and facilities, including the shared bathrooms. Staff were friendly also. Would stay again.

The double room is pretty tiny...just enough room for a tiny bed and a closet...there were only 3 individual bathrooms on the 2nd floor for 8 or so rooms...but it was never a problem...the bathroom and kitchen were about as clean as it can be for a hostel (we were fortunate that most of the other guests did a good...

A single room little more than a box for $45 not even a space for a table. Very disappointing. Would have been better elsewhere. Good location with excellent shopping nearby. Cheap feed at the RSA was a bonus.

Only stayed one night but found this a ood place to stay. Comfortable, clean rooms and facilities. Well-equipped kitchen. Lovely location on beachfront and not far from the centre of town. Friendly staff too. It was a bit cold in the dining area although discovered afterwards that there was a heater!

Friendly, helpful staff. I stayed in a single room which was small, but close to the bathroom and very well appointed with a chair and enough room for my suitcase. Best of all was the small shelf above the bed with a 4 outlet powerboard beside it, perfect for charging phone and camera batteries overnight! Well appointed kitchen.

Located close enough to town but not too far. Right across the road from the beach so you can take your morning coffee and watch the waves crash in. Loveley old building - loved my room! Big kitchen with everything you need to cook.

One of my favourite hostels in my 11 weeks spent traveling round NZ. Booked to stay for 2 nights - ended up staying for 8! Lisa and Marcus are fantastic hosts. Friendly, really helpful and lovely people. Lovely old building, with lots of character. The place is very clean and well looked after. Parts of it are a bit dated...

Stayed in a 4 share, Room 23 and it was so poorly located. It was right where the bicycles were stored, next to the laundry room and beneath the bathrooms. This made things noisy when people were doing their laundry and showering. A power point was not working and the heater did not work either. Thankfully, we were able to...

The staff at the hostel were lovely - very helpful and informative - and my room was cosy (but a bit cold). The place is very centrally located and I enjoyed my stay as it was so near the town centre and the bus station, although I was frustrated that the internet connection didn't work.
