Loved the quiet location just out of Paihia. Sunset drinks on our balcony overlooking the pool and Bay of Islands was a delight each day. Norm and Shelagh couldn't have been more helpful with advice re tours, restaurants etc. An older style motel, (as are most in NZ!), but spotlessly clean and comfortable.

This is a wonderful place to stay. I originally thought this lodging was in Paihia, but after booking, realized it was a bit out of town. I am so glad I did not know that when I booked, because most Paihia lodging is on the main busy street with traffic and a lot of distractions. Cook's Lookout is very close...

Loved the view from our room, couldn't get much better than that! The pool was the perfect temperature, warm but still refreshing. We had our cat with us and Norm&Sheila were very accommodating. We would definitely come back here again :)

We had a wonderful few days staying at Cook's Lookout. Up in the hills overlooking the bay so very quiet and peaceful, but with spectacular views. Norm and Shelagh were so helpful and recommended some great places to eat in Paihia. Would definitely go back to Cook's Lookout and would recommend to family and friends.

Owners were very welcoming. Room clean and quiet. We stayed three nights. Cooked in every evening. Enjoyed breakfast on our deck. Location is not in town, but we considered that a plus. I loved this place. Senior couple from the USA

We had a wonderful stay at Cooks Lookout. It's up on the hill with amazing views across to Russell and the Waitangi Treaty grounds. Norm and Sheila were so helpful, advising us where to go and what to see. The children loved ending the day with a swim in the warm pool and us adults enjoyed a glass of wine...

We really enjoyed our stay at Cooks Lookout. The owners, Norm and Shelagh, are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. They organised everything we wanted to do efficiently and quickly. The suite was clean, comfortable and well equipped and had a fantastic view. The heated pool was very welcome after a day out sight seeing. We would highly recommend Cooks Lookout.

We decided to stay over in Paihia and found this gem. Norm and Sheila have a beautiful Motel situated high on a hill with a gorgeous view of the Bay of Islands. Our rooms, number 12, were sparkling clean and beautifully decorated, from the lovely tile bathroom, to the lace curtains. Sheila kindly provided us with a couple of extra...
