We had spent our honeymoon travelling across New Zealand, and I have to say that Crisdon Castle was the best of the places we'd stayed at. Breathtaking views, wonderful cooking, beautifully appointed rooms and above all, Chris and Donna's exceptional hospitality ensured that we had a lovely time here. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a...

My friends and I stayed at this wonderful B&B based on the recommendation of another friend. Our hosts Chris and Donna, claimed they'd never been to a B&B before opening their own. Their whole idea was to provide their guests with the same level of hospitality they'd want for themselves. The result is an amazing B&B with an awesome view...

Stayed at Crisdon Castle for three nights but wished we could have stayed longer as would have loved to experience a dinner cooked by Donna as our itinerary didin't allow for it on this occasion. Agree with previous reviews about the eggs benedict for breakfast.........would have had them three morning in a row if it wasn't for the fact that...

April 13-16 King's Retreat room: Thank you to all the previous reviews! We made sure we put Crisdon Castle on our honeymoon itinerary. The views from the King's Retreat room were absolutely spectacular even when we had pouring rain for 2 days. On one patio you have a view of the bay below, the ocean beyond the bay, and then...

We would thoroughly recommend this B&B. It's only a little out of Paihia and the views are still spectacular. Hosts are very friendly, without being intrusive, and Donna's cooking is excellent. We stayed in the one room that hasn't been done up fully yet but got to view the other rooms before we left and they are beautiful. The setting...

We have just returned from our first holiday in the Bay of Islands in New Zealand. We booked our accommodation late after reviewing suggestions on Tripadvisor however we were only able to stay at Crisdon Castle B&B for 2 of our 5 nights as they were fully booked. We soon found out how spoilt we had been at Crisdon Castle...

We honeymooned in Bay of Islands. And lucked-out to find Crisdon Castle. A truly magical bed and breakfast. Amazing view of the ocean and islands from high on a ridge. Very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful rooms, with luxurious linen, robes, etc - great attention to detail. Wonderful food, romantic setting. The owners are fantastic - warm, attentive, seem to really...

Chris and Donna struck the right note between being welcoming but giving us time to ourselves when we arrived, late, tired and emotional after a long flight and a 4 hour drive to Pahia. Lovely room, breathtaking views, fabulous patio (outdoor fireplce and comfy chairs- bliss!) and complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy on the patio overlooking the bay at...

“The pool make's the view great. Looks great and definitely adds something to the place. The thing is, it's only 1 feet deep. Not that much swimming going on ;) Knight's Nook is the cheapest room available. (the only one they had available for us those nights) It's good, it has nice spa-bath, great bed, spacious and is filled up with nice details to make it complete! When i get to Paihia, i'll definitely stay here again.”
