We found the Egmont Eco Lodge to be clean and the staff to be friendly and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom clean with good hot pressure in the shower. The lodge has a friendly resident cat who sleeps on the sofa. We thought it was good value for what...

We stayed 2 night at this place. We had a private 3 persons room, space was enough, warm thanks to a small heating. Common parts could have been cleaner in particular the bathrooms but it contains all that you need.

I had a good experience at the hostel. It was not too busy when I was there - I think maybe 10 guests in total. I stayed in the 6 bed dorm. The rooms linens, bathrooms, and kitchen were clean. The beds were mediocore, but I don't necessarily have the highest expectations at hostels. The kitchen has a bunch of pots...

This is a perfectly nice place to stay in New Plymouth. I have a car so didn't mind the distance from the centre. I didn't explore the grounds as others did because I actually didn't know there were any grounds beyond the big field and leisure block! But apparently there are some animals around. As I said it's totally fine...

First off, there is nothing wrong with this place; the rooms and facilities were tidy and functional, and the kitchen was large and well equipped. If we had taken a tent pitch here, I probably would have considered it good. However, for the price of a double room it was disappointing - you had to trudge outside to get to...

We recently stayed at Egmont for a few nights in a double room. It's quite an uphill trek from the town centre, but once you are there and don't have bags to carry, the walk is fine. The reception is not open during the day (which i don't think is advertised anywhere online). The owners were very friendly and inviting...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Egmont Eco Lodge for 1 night. As backpackers on a budget, this hostel was the cheapest (with a BBH card discount) in comparison to others' down the road, and had a few beds available still considering the long weekend here in New Plymouth. We had not read one review on this place- and I...

I stayed at Egmont Eco Lodge with my friends for one night. We had a whole room to ourselves, which was really good. The hostel was clean, overall a very nice place. If it had free wi-fi it would have been perfect.

I really liked the place but it is an half hour walk to the city. Could be a little bit closer to the Mount T. then other hostels but still: If you don't have a car it's not the best place. Moreover I sadly lost my headphones over there; never found again. And I had the worst night of my...
