It’s our second time back staying at One Burgess Hill. Andrew and his team’s warm hospitality and high quality service always make our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We love the fire place, which we get to make our own cozy fire. The food in Quail’s Nest Eatery is a must when you stay there, especially breakfast!

We spent 3 nights here in a one-bedroom unit (I think unit 2, the end one of a block and furtherest from the car park area), overlooking the river and surronding bush-clad hills. Absolutely loved it. The bedroom and bathroom were upstairs, and ground level was a spacious open plan lounge/kitchen area complete with fireplace, comfy couches, large tv, and ranch slider to a private patio. Bathroom was spacious with huge glass and tile shower and separate bath. Bed was queen size but very comfortable. The unit was very clean and well-equipped. It was one of 4 in a block, and other similar blocks were placed around the property, quite a distance from each other so there was a sense of privacy and space. No road noise! The large property was quiet and peaceful, and very well kept with a resort/retreat feel to it. Everything was in excellent condition, staff were friendly and there is a very nice restaurant onsite as well, that makes superb coffees. Great parking, and the location is excellent - just out of town. This is one of those few properties where the reality matches the photos! Recommend.

We held our wedding at One Burgess View. We had the ceremony in front of the River Room where we also had the reception. The wedding party also stayed for 2 nights. The team looked after us really well, helping toartange things. The food and service were amazing. We were looked after so well. The accommodation was first rate. If you are fora venue for a small wedding, look no further.

What a beautiful location and great experience, starting with arrival at the attractive property. Lawrence made us so welcome upon arrival. We were fortunate to stay 3 nights and loved the views, the quiet atmosphere, and the sheep grazing on the lawn. The unit was a good size. Lots of room and a well-equipped kitchen. The big bathroom was great with a modern shower and big soaker tub which was nice for sore muscles after doing the 20 km Pouakai Crossing. We were also able to do laundry while staying which was a bonus. It's just a few minutes to a grocery store, downtown, and around the corner from the stunning Tupare Gardens. Very convenient. Definitely a wonderful place to stay in New Plymouth.

We really enjoyed our weekend here. Lovely manicured and well laid out grounds. The units were spacious and clean with modern decor. The only thing I can complain about was that the pillows were a bit hard. But it really is a lovely place. The views were fantastic. Andrew was really exceptional and went out of his way to ensure our comfort. We would highly recommend coming here to stay.

As an American visiting New Zealand, I thought people were incredibly kind but Andrew, the manager here is a cut above and is the kindest and most cheerful person I met in all of NZ. He gave us a free room upgrade and we were very pleased with the room. The property also has a great restaurant, Quail's Nest Eatery, which too has incredible reviews. Great location just a few miles north of the town.

We love this place & are already looking forward to plan another trip back. The moment you drive in you feel like you are in paradise even on a wet day. A two night stay at least to enjoy what is on offer here. The grounds are so well cared for its easy just to sit back with your favorite drink & enjoy the view. The added bonus from our last stay is that they now have their own restaurant on site so no need to go anywhere.

Tranquil setting, light and airy room, comfortable beds. Perfect spot for one night in New Plymouth after completing the Pouakai Circuit. Friendly staff and easy check-in and out. Only a short drive out of town. Handy having an on-site restaurant. Would highly recommend!

The website doesn't, and can't, really do this place justice. It is spread over about 10 acres in about 3 different blocks. Each block feels remote and each unit has beautiful views of the river. The rooms are spacious and well equipped. Would definitely recommend. But wait there's more. They now have a recently opened restaurant in the complex called Quail's Nest Eatery. This has fantastic food at exceptional prices and is open to everyone. Eat, drink, relax and take in the view. Who could ask for anything more.

We enjoyed our 2 nights here. Very peaceful and restful. My only complaint was the carpet could have done with a shampoo as it had a couple of dark patches from previous spillages?? Also an idea would be in the studios to put a dishwasher or dishdrawer in as I think most people on holidays would prefer this
