Count on a sleepless night. The room looked nice on arrival but was stuffy and there was no a/c. So we had to open the window onto the central Wellington streets. By the time we went to bed the nearby bar patrons were in full swing, shouting and drumming up to 2am. At 5am, a truck pulled up opposite to...

Thank you for your comments. The city can be lively if you are not used to it, however the advantage is you are very close to everything the city has to offer. Sorry that your stay was disturbed by noise. The rooms on the back of the hotel are much quieter . Kind regards Tony

The hotel is centrally located for all amenities, although this does mean you get some outside noise. This is made worse when you open the window to cool down the room as there is no aircon. Staff were friendly cheerful and efficient. The studio room we had on the fifth floor was a decent size, but badly organised. There was...

Thank you for your comments. For those looking for extra room the standard 1 bedroom apartments are good or the superior 1 bedroom apartments are much bigger. We are a bit limited on where things can be placed in the rooms due to the windows being opposite the beds. Thanks again. Tony

Was in Wellington for one night for a business trip and stayed at Distinction Wellington. The Hotel is well situated in the city with easy walking access to Cuba Street (one minute) and Te Papa/Lambton Quay/Waterfront (5-10 minutes). The front desk staff were very well mannered and very accommodating when it came to an early arrival. Happy to look after...

In looking at other reviews perhaps we would have enjoyed our stay here more if we were in an apartment. As it was, our room was a small studio with a view of the parking deck next door. The bathroom had only a shower head that was separated from the rest of the bathroom by only a shower curtain. When...

Our studio apartment room was clean and perfect fora short stay in the city. It included a small kitchenette with a stove, fridge, and microwave. Our room also had a small balcony. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Conveniently located near restaurants,a shopping district, Te Papa museum and Mt Victoria park. A short walk from the waterfront. Nice hotel, would...

This hotel is very centrally located to transport and all the hotspots in Wellington - not to mention the beach is a 10 minute walk. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and the beds very comfortable. The only down side if is you have a balcony on Tory Street it may be a bit noisy at night ,especially on...

Stayed here for a full week. The hotel location was the best thing about this place from my point of view. We had a "rear facing" room which was quite a disappointment. These face the back of two other buildings so the balcony feels like it is literally in a rectangle concrete hole. Being on the 2nd floor the room...

We arrived at the Distinction to find ourselves in a Studio room with no laundry facilities where we had specifically asked for them, but once we'd raised this with Reception we were moved immediately with no fuss whatsoever to a 1-bedroom apartment, which was fine. The apartment was fine, large, comfortable and well appointed, without being 'flash' or trendy -...

Rooms are self contained with a separate living area with kitchen and also washing machine/dryer which is so much more comfortable than an ordinary hotel room. Bed was very comfortable and we could walk everywhere we wanted to go. Caught the bus from the airport and stop was an easy walk. In saying this it cost $18 for the two...
