Just had 2 separate stays in Wellington at the Carlton Gore B&B. Really cannot fault it. Located in a desirable part of Wellington, the B&B has superb views of the bay and city from the breakfast room and is a short walk down steps to Oriental Bay about 15 minutes walk along the front to the city centre and all...

we were only at Carlton Gore for one night and having arrived in the afternoon went down to return our hire car before going into town. For this reason we only had limited time at the B&B. However, both of our hosts were very helpful on arrival and made us feel very welcome. Even though we were up very early...

Lovely House with spacious, very comfortable rooms and excellent hosts. As with most of Wellington you need strong knees to climb the hill. We cheated - Walked down & Taxi back ! Breakfast is extremely good and cooked for you by the Lady of the House. Onsite Parking is available. Self service laundry, Tea & Coffee available in the lounge...

Arrived in Wellington late on in the evening, (after we originally said) because of a big drive down from Rotorua and it was no problem at all. We were shown to our very spacious and clean room and were given some good advice regarding places to eat that evening and visit the following day. Wellington itself is a scenic 15...

Carlton Gore is the perfect guesthouse if you want proximity to the city without the noise and hustle. Set on a hill just above Oriental Parade, it has lovely views across the bay but is within walking distance of good restaurants, Te Papa Museum and other main attractions in Wellington. The rooms are comfortable but unpretentious and the hosts are...

This B & B has spacious rooms, very attractive with nice amenities. Host was pleasant and helpful. Easy to walk to the city from this location, but best part - the views! At night, the lights of the city sparkle outside your rooms and it was fabulous! Really an ideal location to see how pretty Wellington is. Breakfast was served...

This elegant house had a commanding position above the city but parking outside in the road wasn't always easy. The steep walk back up to the B&B from the harbour wasn't a problem for us and there is a bus (No 14) from the city which goes past the door. Our room was comfortable, but had no view and the...

We enjoyed our stay here very much. Although our room was lovely and the bed really comfortable, the en suite was quite small. Janice was really helpful with a map and recommendations of places to eat. The only downside was that it was on a very steep hill and the restaurants about a 20 minute walk, but there were plenty...

My daughters and I were so impressed with the wonderful warm feeling of 'home'. We loved the stylish feeling of our room and plush soft furnishings, so elegant, yet homely. The magnificent views of Wellington harbour, especially while eating breakfast are breath-taking. Thank you Janice for making every effort to ensure our comfort and your helping us plan our daily...

A bright, clean room with a small but adequate ensuite and sunny little patio leading off some patio doors. Plenty of tea and coffee supplied in the room as well as a much appreciated bottle of wine with two wine glasses. A comfortable bed and the quiet location ensured a good night's sleep. The room would have benefitted from a...
