We travelled through Wellington, the hotel is directly near the city centre, you can walk about 5 to 10 minutes to the Cuba Street, that's nice! The Gourmet Stay is a little peaceful place to stay in the city, the breakfast is nice and absolutely complete

Dear Heike M Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are glad you liked our location, as it is something we pride ourselves on. We are close enough to the city but just far enough away for some peace and quiet. We are happy you enjoyed your breakfast and your stay with us. We hope to have you...

Great location, reasonable room, but not a high attention to detail. Fridge did not work, wifi was very patchy and slow. Soundproofing between rooms not good - could hear next room or below. Worst part was another group of people entering our room at 9:30pm with their swipe card. Manager did apologise for this, but not very secure and reassuring...

Thank you for your positive comment about our great location. Once again we offer our apologies for the swipe card situation that occurred. All Managers involved with this property have implemented new procedures to eliminate a repeat of this occurring. As previously commented on in another review, the control switches frequently get knocked on the inside with guests putting their...

Good location and only short walk to waterfront but small unit with access to only one side of the bed and a terrible bathroom/wet room which stayed damp at all times. Breakfast was good and wide selection of options available.

Dear Andrew L Thank you for your review. We're very glad you enjoyed the location and the breakfast at our hotel. We're sorry you didn't like the layout of the room you stayed in, this is one of our unique units. Also there is a room fan built into the wall which helps with the wetness, if it is turned...

I can say the services is commendable, the location is tucked into a serene street which although close to the city center and close to various bus stop , it still affords quiet and peaceful comfort. The standard of cleanliness is also commendable.

Convenient location with nice simple and clean rooms. Room small but good. Bathroom is across corridor, which I wasn't aware of until arrival. Bathroom was however very large. Hand towels would have been good, as I was only provided with towels and face cloth. Would have liked more of a desk to work, in order to not hover over the...

Dear roseb773 Thank you for your review. We are very glad you enjoyed our convenient location and our rooms. We do provide every room with body towels, hand towel, face cloth and a bathmat. I'm unsure why your room wouldn't have had a hand towel. But we always have plenty on hand, so if you would have let us know...

My husband and I stayed here for one night in March 2017, and it was delightful. Although there was some street parking available around the hotel, we pre-booked parking and it was extremely convenient and worth it. The spot is right in front of the hotel, and easily accessible. When we arrived, they upgraded us to one of their larger...

Our stay was perfect. The room was clean and spacious, the location was great, the staff was lovely and breakfast was filling and tasty. Would recommend without reservation. You are just a short walk to everything that Wellington has to offer.

We stayed one cramped and long night. Did not know what we were getting into. We had king room on top floor with deck and jacuzzi. Room was so small we kept tripping over each other and our luggage. No place to sit in the room other than then bed. There are chairs on the deck but it was raining....

Dear Elizabeth B Thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Specialty Lodging. With the unfortunate run of bad weather it kept a few people inside and not on their balconies, but we were more than happy to provide extra furniture to our guests to accommodate them. We are definitely situated in a ‘character’ but safe...

Gourmet Stay is within walking distance from Cuba Street and, for the reasonably fit, within walking distance of the CBD and major attractions. A good continental breakfast is provided and the rooms are very good. Our room was upgraded from a Queen to 2 rooms this was a blessing as the air vent made a whistling noise and I ended up in the bunk bed to escape this. Dear EdBrodie It’s a pleasure reading our guests reviews, and seeing things from their point of view. We are glad you enjoyed your free upgrade, and it is unfortunate when the wind hits Wellington that the ventilation system can become a bit noisier, which is easily fixed if we are notified. Doors throughout our property are approved fire doors and...
