We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Museum Art Hotel. It is perfectly located for any tourist - we were able to walk to many attractions and restaurants, but also took advantage of the excellent public transport options which stopped nearby. As many other reviewers have alluded to, the eye-catching and eclectic art collection displayed around the hotel lobby gives...

This really is the strangest place. Off the wall decorations, some not in the best of taste. Very good room but poor service. The hotel bar and reception are shared and at one time thee staff were all staring at computer screens while I waited to pay my bar bill. Free wifi only available in reception, $5 per night in...

We have now stayed twice and each time has been a delight. We use the hotel as our city accommodation when we come into Welllington for events. It is well located and convenient to Courtney Place and venues. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. Highly recommended.

The artworks set this hotel apart form most hotels where the lobby is something to bolt through as quickly as possible on the way to your room. The various artworks give plenty of incentive to linger and look. Free wi-fi in the lobby, but the hotel experience would be enhanced if this was provided for in-room as well, rather than...

Gorgeous amenities, love the colour and sumptuous decor. the bed was super comfortable, the drapes had great blackout quality, and rooms were very quiet, what a great sleep we had. The parking and concierge service very convenient to eliminate any parking/security issues for our vehicle. Tasty breakfast in the hippopotamus restaurant with great views from the dining room. Would definitely...

Just a short stay, but really enjoyed the time at the Museum Hotel. Excellent service and great decor. So nice to see colour and pattern as opposed to the usual hotel beige. Very central location for Te Papa, shopping and the waterfront. Well worth the extra for a water view room. Could watch the fireworks without traffic issues! Room and...

We only stayed one night in this quirky but cool hotel located across the road from the booming scene at the Wellington harbor. Our room was a studio with a tiny but well-equipped kitchen and a view of the harbor. It also had a combination washer/dryer that, once we figured it out, was a welcome amenity 11 days into our...

Spacious room and balcony with harbour view - fabulous quirky art works everywhere you look. Bed super comfy and great location for Te Papa, bars and restaurants. Charming helpful staff - great experience let down just a bit by the in room Wi Fi charge which on asking was removed from the bill - the. room charge is enough to...

This hotel is unique, quirky and interesting to wander and explore. The art is interesting and certainly thought provoking and a discussion focus. We didn't have time to check out the restaurant but if it is as exemplary as our room this hotel is worthy of a return visit and we can't wait for the opportunity to stay here again....
