I stayed one night this weekend following recommendations from friends. Having stayed recently at some of the best hotels in Asia and the U.S., perhaps my sights are set too high, but it seems very expensive for what you get. The rooms are quite sizeable, but mine was only on the first level (so street noise) and the heating (yes,...

Checked in today, seems like a very nice place, Room is very clean albeit a little small, but very nice, good quality and comfortable. I dont normally write these things till after Ive checked out but I like this place, its close to everything, the art really lives up to the name of the hotel, and by the little touches...

My two daughters and I felt like a weekend away and our choice of accommodation just made our time very special. Adjoining bedrooms, fabulous view, and just a walk away from everything we wanted to see and do. The staff were friendly and there was a lovely calm tranquility from the moment we arrived.

From the moment you walk in and are greeted by the friendly staff, you know you've walked into something special. There is a wow factor and amazing ambiance to this hotel which sets it apart from anything I've been to. The front desk were helpful and informative about the hotel and it's amenities. We found the rooms large and spacious...

Stayed at Museum Art Hotel for 5 nights for business during September 2015. Was an amazing hotel with something to look at around every corner. Beautiful pieces of art and delicious breakfast (not over the top, but had everything you would expect of a great hotel buffet). Service was great, would have liked free wifi in the rooms instead of...

Yes, the origin (old part) of this hotel was physically moved across the road from the site of the current Museum Te Papa by rails. Despite all its quirkiness, the art work and murals offers a sense of warmth without the impersonal feel of five-star hotels. It's location is unbeatable and more importantly, great ambience. The suite was compact but...

A great centrally located hotel that is not your stock-standard cookie cutter hotel. Modern, but individual and nice spacious rooms, and a well stocked mini bar, with full size bottles of wine. Right around the corner from Courtenay Place with tons of restaurants, bars and theatre, and across the road from Te Papa. No noise coming from other rooms. Only...

We have previously stayed in "Art" hotels, but nothing to compare with this for a great eclectic collection of artworks throughout the building, inside and out. So the art is great, but also the whole hotel experience is pretty much 5 star. There are a few minor maintenance issues starting to show, and with the new ownership it will be...

Loved out stay here back in May. Staff were attentive and took us in when we stumbled across this beautiful town in the middle of a rainy night. Boy did we love the surprise of the view of the beach and the town when we woke up!

There's no doubting the Museum Art Hotel is a great spot. In a cool location near Wellington's waterfront. We had a lovely stay. Our room wasn't huge but it was v comfortable and awesome having our own heat pump to keep it at exactly the temperature we like. It's hotel Hippopotamus is absolutely magnificent too. The only thing that surprised...
