Traveling alone in a city can be difficult, YHA offers games room and lounge areas to socialise. It is a large hostel but it has two kitchens to accommodate everyone which is very helpful. Good service and helpful staff.

my only criticism is the dorm which was so warm and devoid of fresh air. The small window opened no more than a few cm so we propped open the door to let in a bit of slihtly less stuffy coridor air. Not easy to sleep in such conditions and as nice as the hostal is and as friendly and...

Bonjour Stelectron! Thanks for taking the time to write a review for our property. We appreciate it! And we’re glad you found our staff were friendly and that you enjoyed our location. Hot days like the one you described are rare here in Windy Welly, but they do happen, so we provide fans on request at reception to help our...

I stayed in a 6 bed dorm for two weeks whilst between apartments. I was super impressed with how clean it was and the lovely and helpful staff. It says on the website that wifi is $5 a day, however it is actually free and unlimited which is great. The full service kitchen is super handy and the supermarket across...

The hostel provides nice big dorm rooms, most of which seem to be en suite. There are two kitchens which are very well stocked. There is a cafe downstairs open during the day, a good seating area and a really nice TV room (MASSIVE tv with good choice of DVDs). The location is good, right near main theatres, bars and...

I was very impressed by YHA in general during my travels in NZ - much better than BASE in my experience! Really helpful staff, comfy twin room, good laundry room, free wifi. There was also good kitchen facilities, large dining room and large rooms for watching TV, relaxing etc. Its about a 5 minute walk from the Te Papa museum,...

On my recent Haka Tour we stayed in various YHA's, all were fine. But in Welington the rooms were good, communal facilities and information excellent. Its a massive hostel but i was so impressed, even the laundry room has an amazing view. Reception staff were helpful too. We were blessed with amazing weather and the brilliant location for the hostel...

I've stayed at this hostel on two occasions in January. Both times were in a 6 bed female dorm. The dorms are a good size with comfortable and clean beds. The beds are the shorted bunks so if you are on the bottom you can't sit up. Reading lights are fitted above every bed which is a bonus. Only gripe...

Greaf location, supermarket across the street. Two spacious kitchens and plenty of tables. Rooms were clean and tidy, but the shower was disappointing. Everything gets wet except your body! Shower and toilet en suit so maybe this was just our shower, others might be better. Stafd helpful!

I was wary about staying in a YHA hostel but was pleasantly surprised. The double room was very small but it was clean and well serviced. Staff were friendly and helpful. I thought £65 was quite expensive for the quality of the facilities though. Well located for a range of eateries. A little bit noisy at night as we faced...

I am a semi-regular visitor to Wellington YHA. The premise is well managed and clean throughout.Beds comfortable. Location is ideal for facilities and for pleasant ocean-side walking to many local attractions including onward travel. Also just three stops on airbus from the airport. The cafe offering a basic breakfast is a welcome addition. Huge New World supermarket across the road....
