I've stayed at countless backpacker hostels all over the world, and this is one of the worst. They have a huge array of excellent travel information, which is their best feature. The location is very good, only two minutes walk from the main bus stop at Courtenay Place, which is where the airport commuter bus stops ($9 / trip, no... More

Hi Brian Thanks for your review. I’m glad you liked the array of travel information we have on offer and you found our location to be convenient. The airport bus is an invaluable service and we’re lucky it operates so closely to our property. I’m sorry that you found the staff to be rude, this surprises me, but we have... More

Vibrant, clean, well equipped kitchen, helpful staff and efficient. Great sea view from our room, handy to have supermarket across the road. Lots of spaces for hanging out. We stayed as a family of two adults and two young children in a family room with ensuite. It was comfortable and safe we would definitely stay again

Great location, comfortable beds, clean and hot showers. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Also we had an issue in our room with a drunk guy passing urine on a girl bed when she was a sleep and the staff were wonderful with sorting it out in the morning.

Booked a twin room for me and my 12yr old daughter. Great place to stay. Friendly staff, clean and modern facilities. Safety conscious. Everything you need. Was noisy at night with people constantly coming and going and doors banging but to be expected when staying in this type of accomodation. Good price.

Well located, similar to every other YHA hostel in the country. Personnel was nice. I believe above all, location was the best point of this choice. Everything else was average, to my opinion really!.

Overall the stay was good for the price paid. I stayed in a Private Double Room. Clean facilities (did not use common area), nice staff, New World Supermarket directly across the road for groceries. FREE WI-FI...:)... More

Hi Thanks for your comprehensive review. I’m pleased our location was convenient for you and you found our team to be engaging. Overnight stay in the YHA backpackers was exactly what you would presume a backpackers would be like. Clean, basic, affordable rooms that provided you with what you needed. A place to sleep and an accessible location to the CBD. The amenities were always clean, and the kitchen was a great space to meet other people from all over the world.

This is a large hostel close the Courtney Place, which is a great location. The hostel is fairly well equipped, with large communal facilities.
