We booked here for 3 nights and, like other reviewers, were surprised that the house didn't live up to it's impressions on the web. Our room at the front was noisy...either buses or kids on skateboards made sure we were awake. Yes, Jane was charming and tried hard despite feeling unwell. However, we wouldn't stay again or recommend to friends....

Arriving on a bleak rainy spring day it was so wonderful to enjoy a peaceful and cosy evening in this lovely large and old beautifully appointed home. Jane was an excellent hostess and the breakfast was everything you could hope for and absolutely delicious. i especially enjoyed the poached boysenberries! The bedroom was large and comfortable -including an amazing selection...

This is a beautiful old house, with lovely features. The location is very nice: close to mt victoria where a stroll to the top gives lovely views of the city. Also around the corner are cubastreet and courtney, both very good streets for dinner or drinks. In front of the house is the busstop with frequent busses to the center....

We travelled down from Oakune to Wellington, tired after a week on the road and hoping for a refuge. Book lovers rests at the foot of a forrested ridge overlooking the city centre. This is a double fronted beautiful house at the top of a hill, quiet but central. First impressions are of books everywhere, a gentle soft scent and...

The Booklovers B& B was just lovely. What a beautiful old house. The rooms were clean and tidy, the beds very comfortable and good there was good heating. The breakfast was very nice, and plentiful. The books were indeed for Book Lovers - I could have devoured every book in my room if only I had time. The location is...

Jane is a wonderful host. Her charming, well equipped, conveniently located b&b is a must stay for visitors to Wellington. An easy 5 minute walk to cafes and restaurants on the trendy Courtenay Place. Each room has all the conveniences you expect from a hotel, plus nice extra touches like an electric blanket, dvd player, towel warmer and flexible breakfast...

This b&b was perfectly situated in mount victoria with a 15 minute walk into the town centre (albeit a short but steep hill on the way back). The place itself was very comfortable with either doubles or a double and a single in the same room. The beds were extremely comfortable and Jane our hostess was so welcoming and gave...

Thank you for a lovely stay! It was perfect. the bed was comfy, the room quiet, the heating and electric blanket a nice touch, and it was lovely meeting you. I could park my car and walk to work and the bus stop right outside came in handy in the pouring rain. I will be staying again.

Jane gave us excellent directions for our afternoon and evening in Wellington. Our room was fine, although there was a cracked window pane above the extra bed (which we weren’t using) which looked dodgy when the wind started to blow hard. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom along the corridor was ok and the breakfast was good. It’s a...

The little imperfections of this place are part of its charme, but if you prefer superstylish and supertidy and perfectly organised places, rather go somewhere else. It is very clean despite the little chaos around the place. And the breakfast was upon order and you could get what you wanted. The location is perfect, right at the bottom of Mount...
