If you are looking for a good hotel in the Cbd, this should fit the budget for its service. The beds are super comfy. Rooms are decent size and view out is good although not sea facing. Room service is quick. Staff are courteous. Portlander, which is their native restaurant; offers lip smacking meals and an expensive buffet. A thorough...

We've held our user conferences at Rydges five years now. Five years straight best food, service, people. A well run operation, in a good spot, with good rooms. We've stayed the night before the last few years and always got a good modern room, not 'tired' at all, with a good bed. The air con was a bit loud this...

We only stayed one night but we enjoyed this hotel for its location and restaurant Portlander downstairs, which serves a lovely seafood chowder. We walked to the very nearby Government buildings including the Beehive, strolled along the wharf front which is also very close, it's only a 10 minute walk to the Te Papa museum. The cable car ride is...

Stayed here for a few nights whilst in Wellington. The hotel is looking very tired and in need of attention. Inside and out. Our room was of good size but very poorly laid out. The pillow cases had holes and bed was fairly uncomfortable. Heard every gust of wind which is every 5 seconds in Wellington. The balcony was dangerous....

Hi Matty, We're very sorry to hear that you found your experience well under the usual Rydges standards. Please accept our sincere apologies for the issues you experienced while staying at Rydges Wellington. Holes in pillow cases are definitely unacceptable and we will be following this up. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about the Wellington wind however,...

This hotel has wonderful customer service, quick lifts, comfy beds and a great restaurant. The bar area gets a little crowded quickly so get there early if you would like a seat when having a drink. The wine list and menu are fabulous. The chef cooked my medium rare steak perfectly and the waiters at breakfast were very helpful in...

I had booked to stay at this hotel on the 6th of May as part of a 3 week roadtrip with my mum who had flown from the UK. However late night on the 4th I had to cancel the rest of our trip and fly back to the UK with my mum. That included this hotel that my partner...

We were very impressed to find that the standard of this hotel were as high as ever during our recent visit. Reception staff were very welcoming and tried to tailor the experience to suit our needs. Our room was impeccable and the furnishings, particularly the red gauze curtains to filter out sunlight, protect from the cold etc... are striking and...

I've previously had good experiences at Rydges, but it's looking tired. Was looking forward to their famous buffet breakfast and it was very average indeed! Staff on desk were polite but not very knowledgeable. Water in mini bar was already open, reported this. Mini bar not restocked. On the whole, meh.......!
