Rooms are lovely, hotel is in an amazing location, walking distance from most things eg. Warf and museum and restaurants- however the in house restaurant is amazing! My husband and I had steak and it was just delicious! Would definitely recommend! While their fitness centre consists only of a treadmill, bike and some weights, you have full access to a...

Hi Ayshilin, Thanks so much for the 5/5 review! It's great to hear you enjoyed your stay, and in particular our award winning restaurant Portlander. If you have a moment, we'd really appreciate it if you could leave a review over on Portlander's separate TripAdvisor page as well! Thanks again for your review, we hoep to see you on your...

Great location and room was very good. In house restaurant was superb. Food was beautifully put together and the service from the German (Apologies if not) waiter made the meal. Great wine selection. Apparently trip advisor wants me to say more. If I thought I needed to say more I would. Some miserable b*****d will always find fault in something...

Hi Neil, Thank you for your review! Despite what TripAdvisor tells you, we don't mind how much you write! It's great to hear you enjoyed you stay, and loved your meal at our award-winning restaurant Portlander. I believe I know the German waiter in question, so I will pass your kind comments onto him. My husband and I stayed in this hotel during our recent holiday to New Zealand. We took the Airport Flyer bus upon arrival at Wellington airport, which stops around the corner ( a block away) from the Rydges Hotel. The hotel is in a good location close to the harbour front restaurants, a short walk to the Te Papa Museum...

We enjoyed our stay here, especially the view from our room. The hotel is in a great location, not far from the Beehive (parliament building), Lambton Quay (shops) and the waterfront. We stayed in 3 Rydges hotels while in New Zealand but the Wellington Rydges had by far the smallest room. The room could not be faulted for its cleanliness...

Room was very spacious and comfortable. Hotel is well located. Car parking was a bit of a problem as the hotel is in a very busy area. Surprised to get a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. Breakfast was sumptuous.

Hi there, Thank you for your review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay and we do hope the parking did not cause too much of an inconvenience. Unfortunately being in such a central location does mean it can get busy out front, but we do try to help as much as possible to ensure a smooth check in. We hope...

Things which may be helpful: 1) Convenient to all major attractions and transportation; 2) 200 yards to the waterfront. Nice lobby. Helpful staff. Complete breakfast. Rooms large and clean. Difficult controls for HVAC. Kitchen facilities in room. Shower was iffy and felt very slippery. Wifi was fast. It was free but we did have a group deal through a tour...

The room was great, the staff was friendly, the room was clean.... When I showed up there were parties going on in the two rooms next to me - Some young Justin Beiber looking douche was in the foyer later at night yelling obscenities, there was a young girl sitting on the entrance couch crying. Hi there, Thank you for your review. Unfortunately the weekend of your stay also coincided with the Homegrown music festival on Wellington Waterfront, hence the increased population of young people in the city! We hope this did not cause you too much disturbance, and we assure you that this is not a regular occurrence. We'd love to see you again...

Central location in Wellington, walking distance of most points of interest. Modern hotel and likewise rooms. Not very welcoming though, staff was cold and not very friendly.
