Prompt and friendly service at reception. Checking in with just my Priority Guest Rewards member card was easiest ever. My partner dislike room allocated facing the lift door, so we requested a room change and it was done with no question asked. Great atmosphere at the hotel bar and as always, Rydges Wellington offer one of the best buffet breakfast...

We booked this hotel for one night between the ferry crossing and getting on the Northern Explorer. Great location near the train station was ideal for us. The room was impeccable and gave us a really great nights sleep. Used the restaurant for a quick meal and the food could not be faulted. All in all I would quite happily...

The chief problem I incurred at this hotel was the difficulty of adjusting the old heat pump unit. It is controlled only by a remote which is impossible to operate intuitively. Even using the written instructions, it is maddening to try to adjust the temperature. I had to call the front desk at 2 AM and a staff person came...

Location was brilliant for the ferry. It was good for restaurants and the harbour too. The room was clean and the hotel had everything you could think of. They even parked your car for you. Room service was very tasty too.

We have been here twice for lunch in recent months. The food was outstanding on both occasions. Fresh, beautifully cooked, and well presented. Nice setting, attentative staff, a well thought out menu with wonderful quotations. A good choice of non alcoholic drinks for those who enjoy a heathy living style. We will be going back again sometime soon.

Really enjoyed the night at Rydges, which was Holiday Inn few years back. Just down from Beehive and near waterfront. Decor just about ready for refresh but really comfortable bed, great wireless, lovely restaurant food. Will stay there again.

Good location close to parliament and shopping area. Quality hotel with excellent facilities and staff as you would expect. Sea facing rooms are definitely worth asking for.Limited parking and if full public car park nearby is a bit of a hassle

Our party of 5 stayed at Rydges in Christchurch which was delightful. Whilst this hotel is well situated it is far less personal than the other hotel which was disappointing. It tries far too hard to be "cool". The male reception staff could be smarter. The music is too loud in the bar/reception. No I'm not old fashioned! Rooms (we...

Great hotel even though 1 of our 4 reservations had been cancelled in error by the hotel the lovely front of house staff quickly found another room to sort it. We only stayed here one night, fortunately. Our room looked out onto a very close office building so we had to keep our curtains permanently closed. We also felt cold during the night. Hi there, We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay at Rydges. Our rooms types are tiered depending on the view, so should you choose to stay again, we recommend booking a room with a city or harbour view instead of our lead in room, which you picked. Regarding our valet service, we are surprised to...
