My wife and I recently stayed at Designer Cottage at the beginning and end of our time on the South Island. Steve made sure our time in Christchurch was perfect in every way. The cottage met our every need; breakfast was always abundant and our activities were made easier with Steve's support and recommendations. The location is excellent for seeing...

Chet provides a lovely friendly environment. I arrived straight from a 36 hour flight and was gently cared for! Spotless rooms, but I agree a very small sink, and lack of a shelf in the bathroom. He cooks a great breakfast egg!

This Christchurch B&B is located on the city edge. Easy travel by bus or walk to city center (or 5 min drive). Best part of the B&B is the host and the cottage styles design defined the unique B&B experience (beautiful garden). Basic but very homely, just like visiting friend house with all the freedom. Noting luxury but functionable.

We stayed in the cottage - 55 Hastings! Chet was a delight and very informative. He was very accommodating and helpful and very kind. The cottage was very quaint and was perfect for what we wanted! Everything was comfortable and beautifully decorated, keeping with the feel of the era! Thank you Chet once again!

Keep your expectations low. Clean and hospitable but downright small! Bathroom sink so small the water splashed everywhere when you turn on the faucet. Room small and challenging with two people and luggage. Shower was slick and i fell in it the first night -ouch! Told the owner so maybe they'll put a mat inside. Decent breakfast included eggs from...

We stayed 3 nights with Designer Cottage B&B when we first landed in Christchurch. The staffs are very kind that offer us a nice room. Not every room come with private bathroom, so make sure you double check with the confirm booking. The garden is most impressive with a water feature and decking. Breakfast is continental with good serving. We...

The host Steve has been very kind to us. He is born in Christchurch, so full of travel tips and places to eat with a designed map. The garden is lovely, and we booked a lovely room next to the garden courtyard. The co host Cat 'Marmite' is super cute and friendly. This B&B/ home to the Christchurch Designer is...

We stayed here for two nights. The hosts were friendly and wonderful. the apartment itself was beautiful, with very interesting pieces (including an ancient radio which my daughter loved!). The garden was lovely, there were apples and pears and grapes.. beautiful. One small issue (if one can call it that), the bathroom is really tiny. It was a challenge bathing...

We enjoyed the congenial atmosphere around the breakfast table. Along with the great food. After an unexpected accident we need a place longer term to recouperte. It is a short and sweet stay at this humble unique cottage. The cottage is located at the south side of the city with few cafes. restaurants and The Colombo Mall. A short 15 to 20 min walk to city centre. The breakfast is a must, and we did enjoyed the double room with private bathroom. Bathroom is a bit...
