We stayed two days in this very nice B & B and their hosts Renate and Ernst. The rooms were clean and the beds very well. We enjoyed the house and the beautiful garden and felt at home. The service was perfect and when we come back once to NZ we will certainly visit this B & B again.

What a nice place. We went after the earthquake and there was no problems. Christchurch is doing well and we had lots of fun. The house is very comfortable and breakfast was good. No problems, if in the area it is well worth the stay.

This place is simply superb. Renate and Ernst could not have made us feel more welcome in their lovely home, which was perfectly set up to accommodate our family. The gardens and farm are beautiful and the location is perfect, far enough away from the city to feel like you are out of the thick of things but close enough...

We stayed for two nights in the Bed and Breakfast accomodation and then for 2 weeks in the Cottage. It is immediately obvious that no expense has been spared in achieving the highest standards of comfort and convenience. Everywhere is clean, beautifully furnished and equipped and spacious and Renate's breakfasts are super. The property is situated in quiet rural surroundings...

A complimentary pick-up from the airport, immaculate accomodation, excellent breakfast and everything run so efficiently. Add to this the kindness of Renate who went that 'extra mile' in the thoughtful things she did for a couple of oldies. A great start or finish to any trip to New Zealand!

It's difficult to find something fresh to say, bearing in mind all the other reviews have said it already. But just let's say it one more time: Hoonhay Lodge is superb. It exudes quality in every way and, what's more, it is delightfully situated within easy reach of Christchurch the Banks Peninsula and the Canterbury Plains/Mountains. Ernst and Renate are...

We stayed at HoonHay for last 2 nights of our NZ trip. We loved the place for many things that it offered. The vastness of the property - with sheep & cattle farm, beautiful flower plots, vegetable garden & relaxing spots to enjoy the peace & tranquility of the surroundings. Their dog (6-mth old puppy rather) was extremely friendly &...
