Pick up and drop off to the airport was unexpected but so very helpful. Proximity to shopping and bus routes is perfect. (The city is only $3 away.) Pam and Denis' home is delightful and their hospitality is naturally forthcoming. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed at the Lilac Rose Bed & Breakfast with our two friends on vacation this past August. The house is really beautiful with lots of character and very well maintained. We enjoyed just admiring the trim, décor, and ambience that this historic home offered. We had a room downstairs with a private bathroom. The beds were...

This house and its magnificent garden are gorgeous and Pam and Dennis are great hosts. Dennis's breakfast was the equivalent of a fancy cafe breakfast. We drew the short straw of the tiny upstairs attic room without a private bathroom but it was still nice despite hitting our heads and shoulders on the ceiling several times(!)...and the bed was great,...

We stayed at the lilac rose b&b in September. We were greeted by Pam and Dennis and were made to feel at home immediately with a coffee and delicious homemade biscuits. There home is absolutely beautiful both inside and outside! They have an outdoor spa and gorgeous gardens! We stayed in the attic which was so cosy and the bed...

Pam and Dennis have a lovely house, spotlessly clean, ample cooked breakfast, tea and delicious cakes on arrival (made by Dennis). Friendly and informative hosts, wished we had booked another couple of nights. Highly Recommended.

Lilac Rose is a fascinating, beautiful home with high ceilings and eclectic memorablia tastefully displayed. Hosts and owners, Dennis and Pam, were lovely to us and prepared UNBELIEVABLE breakfasts, complete with delicious lattes and expresso. Unfortunately, there is little to see of downtown Christchurch at the moment, following the devastating earthquakes, but we spent the day at the Antarctic museum...

Dennis and Pam were excellent hosts. We stayed 2 nights at the Lilac Rose and were thoroughly satisfied. Dennis picked us up from the airport upon our arrival even though we didn't make arrangements. He was really nice to give us a lift to the Intercity coach-line bus stop for our Kaikoura Day Trip, and to the Apex Car Rental...

We travel a lot - wish we could find such great accomodation elsewhere. Pam and Dennis are born to be hosts. They epitomise what we kiwis should all be remembered for. Their beautiful home was warm, inviting, and five star standard. Breakfast and real coffee made fresh when we wanted it. We'll be back, and will allow more time to...

This was a great place to stay in while in Christchurch. Dennis could not have been more helpful - gave us a lift from the airport as well as to the train station. His eggs benedict were to die for! It is withing walking distance of the bus and had lovely, comfortable, clean room and beautiful bathroom.
