Room was spacious, and very comfortable. Staff were excellent, as was the bistro staff. Location an easy walk to tram, and central. Hagley park across road. Was however woken at 6.30 by radio turning on. Then I managed to fumble for the (wrong) remote and turn television on. But no matter. Was a very pleasant stay. Loved being able to use guest laundry. Thankyou

My go to spot for a quiet glass of wine/coffee/meal. We had the most divine Pumpkin and Parsnip soup with Brioche. I don't like parsnips particularly but this truly was delicious. A wine taste before my choice if chardonnay secured a lovely glass from Peregrine Vineyard. As always the service is top notch with a quiet atmosphere.

The George is the perfect hotel to spend a few days in the new look Christchurch. Excellent location and staff that really care! And the Ralph Hotere art works were that extra “love that” factor to our experience.

Comfortable rooms with the "usual" in-room facilities of such hotels. Nice touch with the "souvenir" George. Restaurant (50 Bistro) provides good food and the wine list is also of interest. (If you like your wines ask for the "Pescadore" wine list - restaurant is closed but they still have some outstanding bottles listed and available). Warm, friendly service throughout.
