We stayed here for one night as a stop over and it provided what we needed, a comfy bed with clean showers. The rooms weren't very big there wasn't much storage space or room on the floor, this didn't matter as we were only sleeping here then off to kaikoura.

Room was pretty good no noise etc. Mould around the shower/bath was a bit poor. Was told by the friendly receptionist I could leave my van till around lunchtime after I had already stayed 2 nights. Manager (assuming she was) confronted me around lunchtime trying to catch me out and I said I had asked. Could tell she didn't believe...

I was recommended the YMCA by a friend who has used this accommodation on several trips to N.Z. Excellent central location. Near to bus stops/pick up points for onward travel, such as Queenstown, and visitor information centre. Several eateries nearby though there are facilities within the YMCA complex. The evening that we arrived we enjoyed a 'stand up' comedy night...

We were very happy with the accommodation in this hostel. We had an en-suite double room that overlooked the botanical gardens. It was a good location and close to the centre. The botanical gardens are very good. Next door is a restaurant called Duo which was worth a visit. We also tried an Irish bar called The Bog, which does...

Situated next to the Christchurch Botanical Garden/Hagley Park, this hostel/motel offers a truly unique experience. Room 220 is a corner room overlooking the cathedral and offers partial view of Hagley Park. It is opposite to the Christchurch i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, located at 28 Worcester Blvd. There's a cafe (Robert Harris) onsite but closes at 5 pm. Not much eatery...

We stayed in 506 and the room was spacious, clean, modern and functional. Very quiet and we slept really well! Kitchen facilities here small but more than adequate. Really good location, short walk into town, right next to the botanical gardens. Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi $5 for 24 hours but really good wifi which is hard to come across...

This would have to be the best value hostel in new Zealand. The rooms are large and airy, bathrooms a good size and plenty of them on each floor. The kitchen gets a little crowded and in fact, I did not prepare any meals here. Adequate car park space at the premises is included, a big bonus! The communal spaces...

Great location, you can be in the botanical gardens in seconds. Clean rooms with plenty of bathrooms and good kitchen space. Disappointed to be charged for both wifi and the gym. However gym is good once you have paid for it!

The Hostel itself is nice and tidy however the wifi is useless. They charge $5 to access it and it struggles to load anything. Other hostels have free wifi and if I knew it wouldn't work I would have probably booked somewhere else.

The YMCA hostel is in a really good location, close to the museum and Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Check in was friendly, professional and efficient. The staff were lovely. The dorm room I stayed in had two bunk beds in a decent sized room, with plenty of space to move around and store your luggage. (Xbase or Nomads would have squeezed...
