Booked online through lastminute.co.nz, selected to pay on arrival. Turned up and was advised they had been unable to take the bond out. I asked what bond, as nothing mentioned when I booked. The horrible manager came out and said it doesn’t matter if it’s not written down, he makes his own rules and I can f**k off. I was horrified how he spoke. I said I had no where to stay and he said “that’s not my problem, now f**k off”. Don’t stay here. Sounds like they charge a bond and do their best not to return that money. Stay next door instead, same price but the owners are so lovely and the rooms are nice.
Beds and space was clean and comfortable. But... no double glazing so road noise was truly horrible if you aren't used to it. Also really weird interconnected rooms meant one room was kept awake till midnight by the next room. But the price was cheap. And it was close to the airport.
No problems with room and facilities, have always stayed at this motel when in Christchurch, but never again. Guests in a nearby room, kept us and other guests awake all night, with what sounded like rearranging furniture, people coming and going all night, talking and swearing loudly on cell phones right outside our bedroom window. Telling people to f*** off. We found the next day that the owners don't live on site. My greatest disappointment was with the owners, when we alerted them to the situation and asked for a refund as we had not received the service we had paid for, for that night, the Manager said they can't do that. We had booked and paid for two nights but we were not prepared to spend another sleepless night there, with a big day of driving the next day, so booked out and they did refund the night we didn't use. It was disappointing to be continually told by the Manager that we should have rung the police, these people appeared to be on P, one had already been arrested that night and returned, we weren't prepared to take the risk of any repercussions for potting them to the police, and felt that was Management's responsibility to manage their guests. Management need to improve their customer relation skills. Also office was suppose to be open at 8a.m, with no one living on property and office still not open after 8.30 we managed to call the emergency number on the door and get someone to come in, they arrived around 9a.m. If they don't live on property they need to at least be available when they say they will be.…
I booked with this motel and cancelled free of charge via booking.com. However they still charged my card and when I phoned them the lady said it was her mistake and that they had refunded. I explained that they should of at least called me to explain after all they had all my contact details and it would have been common courtesy. Have not received my refund yet so have just phoned tonight and been abused by the man who answered the phone and called names that I cannot in good faith even type here. DO NOT RECOMMEND. UTTERLY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR!!!!!
We arranged a late check in, (9.30) they left our key in a box with the room number, and when we went to our room we realizes that they double book it. We have to phone them 5 times to get a response and finally they send us to an other motel. No any compensation for their mistake. Really disappointed service.
