The Quest Serviced Apartments are an ideal place to stay in the centre of Christchurch. The Number One tram stop is literally right outside the door. The city centre and the galleries are within easy walking distance of the hotel. There is a minimart and off license as well as restaurants minutes from the door. The room we stayed in was comfortable and had good facilities. It had a full kitchen. There were two televisions with a good choice of television channels and free movies. The apartment was clean and large enough to live in had we so chosen. There were some problems. The lifts stopped working for several hour on day. But the staff were very obliging and quick to try to find solutions. Likewise a slow draining shower was sotted out very swiftly. If you are going to Christchurch, and I would urge you to do so, you have to accept that it is a city in the midst of major rebuilding. We were woken my the noise of building work early in the morning.…
We stayed here twice while touring the South Island. Rooms were large and very clean and tidy. All amenities were new. The location is excellent and was a walking distance to shops and malls. Staff are super friendly and very helpful. Only downside is that the clothes dryer is inefficient as it takes hours and hours to dry clothes.
This hotel is fantastically located right in the middle of Christchurch. By this I mean - right in the middle - across r he road from the Cathedral and in the same building as the tram stop at the Christchurch Cathedral Mall. We had adjoining rooms with two bedrooms and the rooms were fitted out with all that is expected of a Quest. As someone else has said, the lift is a bit beaten up and the entrance underwhelming but the hotel is great. You also need to pay for parking at a lot next door. Overall though I would definitely stay there again.
We really enjoyed our 3 night at The Quest. Reception doesn't run for 24 hours, but when there was a Reception person there during the day they were very helpful. There is no Restaurant, but there are many close by. There were kitchen facilities, and a clean bathroom and bedroom. We found it quiet, and easily accessible to come and go from our room.
Spent three evenings in a one bedroom apartment, it was home away from home. Comfortable beds, kitchenette, dishwasher and a comfy lounge suite - the latter is often lacking in most accommodation. Staff very helpful and efficient. Great base for sightseeing and within easy walking distance to eateries, supermarket and retail shopping. Recommend the tram if you're new to the city it gives a great insight into where you would like to spend some extra time.
