My family and I stayed at Peacock Suite which is located in the main house on the second floor. The room was nice, neat and specious. The staff were nice and friendly. The breakfast was as described on their website. We ended up buying our own breakfast from the supermarket and that was not an issue for us. We would...

This was our first motel stay in New Zealand and a very pleasant experience it was. Warren greeted us warmly on arrival and was very friendly. We had pre-booked a room in a modern annexe building facing the main road, but Warren said we could avoid traffic noise if we went instead for a fine room in the historic manor...

Had a 4 night stay here and couldn't fault it. Bridgette and Brian had just taken charge that day and we happened to be their first guests. Very friendly and informative welcome. The room and facilities had everything we needed, and was spotlessly clean. The motel is close to the restaurants and shops in Merivale which was great and about...

Stayed there for one night, it's a nightmare. First of all, the noise from the Papanui road is immense, one of the busiest road in CHC, cars passing at high speed all the time ,even at midnight. And the double glazed window was just useless. Then, the "full breakfast " issue. I booked through Expedia, which says full breakfast was...

This hotel is well located and is charming...a wonderful and friendly woman welcomed us and helped us with a number of questions. The rooms are very clean and have a luxury feel (though it is not a luxury hotel), there were books to borrow, lots of information about Christ Church and close to restaurants.

We loved this place! We only stayed one night and wish we stayed more. The staff was great. They had wonderful suggestions for places to go see and eat. A very short walk to downtown (about 15 minutes). Great location and clean!

Proprietors professional and friendly. Rooms in the restored manor house tastefully decorated; clean, tidy and a good size. Small modern kitchen included. Pretty setting on main road into Christchurch city. 10-15 minute walk or bus at the door. 5 minute walk to good cafés and restaurants and supermarket in Merivale. Quiet safe upmarket area. We would stay again.

Reading the reviews, I would have imagined a special place but there is nothing in my view to get excited for. Room is ok, not so spacious but well cleaned. The proximity of other guests just in front of my room was not very pleasing to me and my neighbours were very vocal and noisy at night. Furthermore the motel...

We were very pleased with our stay. Gwen, Bridget and Warren were very friendly and helpful. The location was within walking distance of central Christchurch. There were plenty of good restaurants close by as well. I would highly recommend staying atthemanor itself.
