Finding a little oasis of France in NZ was great fun and the hotel is charming. Bruce made us very welcome. The room was nicely decorated and we liked the very French doors onto the balcony. The fact that the balcony overlooked the street did reduce it's appeal a little but it was lovely to have the doors open. It's...

Our guest - NoneyJ has commented on having a delicious Indian Sumner curry meal on their last night in Sumner while staying at Le Petit Hotel...it has to be said that Sumner as a seaside village is most fortunate in having a wide range of excellent cafe/restaurant businesses which just make a stay here while in Christchurch all the more...

This is a terrific B&B located in the quaint beach village of Sumner. Room was quite nice with free wi-fi that worked well. Breakfast, especially the croissants, was a great way to start the day. Within a block of a great beach and within a brief walk of restaurants and pubs. Bruce, Martine and their cute dog are warm, friendly...

I stayed at Le petit hotel for two nights on business. I had not stayed in Sumner before but found it charming. Bruce was incredibly customer focused with that personal approach that makes you feel at home. The free wi fi internet in your room is unusual for NZ but was fantastic and easy to use. Key pad entry to...

We stayed with Bruce for 3 nights. Bruce and Martine are excellent hosts. The beach town of Sumner is still suffering from the earthquake one year later. Only one pub and no pizza place is open but all the places we ate, The Headless Mexican,The Thirsty Marriner, The Tapas, and The Countryside Bistro were great. The beach is one block...

We were greeted warmly upon arrival and shown to our well kept room to stay for 1 night. We had to leave early (4am) in the morning to catch an international flight back home and were extremely pleased about the service Bruce provided. He ensured that we were able to help ourselves to breakfast in the morning and was surprised...

Excellent little B&B with personal service by the owners. Superb rooms, but some trafic noise early evening. Will always be our first choice in that area.

We stayed at Le Petit for 6 nights, arriving on 24th Dec 2011. After a couple of significant earthquakes the day before, with aftershocks likely to follow, we were pleased to find a modern and safe building, which has suffered no damage from the quakes. The hosts Bruce, Martine and Cara the dog were very friendly and welcoming. Our room...

Great spot in a faulous location, rooms are well appointed and very clean, only glitch was breakfast which while the croissants are excellent, no yogurt on second day, and the only fruit served while we were there was canned/bottled peaches in an area and a season with lots of excellent and affordable fruit, otherwise excellent.

Le Petit Hotel management appreciates constructive feedback, such as the comment about the possible availability of fresh fruit at breakfast time, as part of the petit dejeuner. As a consequence we have now incorporated this option for our guests.
