Very good spacious accommodation fully equipped. Laundry room and helpful staff. Very clean all round. Great location for getting in to Christchurch city as bus stops just around the corner. We were on first floor and could sit on the verandah to catch the sun.

Close to the university and good value. Room was clean and functional. Great water pressure in the shower, though it was quite a small shower over a chubb so a big step to get into the shower. Friendly host and good parking outside of the unit.

This motel fit the bill after arriving late on a rainy night. Basic but clean and comfortable. It is kind of retro with glass, louvered door. It was a bit further from the airport then we thought. So, taxi was a bit expensive. Taxi drivers have to pay a surcharge to pick people up at the airport. They then have...

Getting started We stayed at the Academy Motor Lodge for just the one night – arriving by air in Christchurch for late that evening and choosing a motel as the easiest option. Late night flights are typically fraught with friends or relatives hanging around the meet & greet area scanning the faces; and more so when flights are delayed. It’s...

this is something out of the 1970's, maybe even the 60's but I can't remember back that far. I kid you not. If you are into Nostalgia, out of date decor, furniture and fittings then this is right up your alley. The mission brown trim and the black kitchen tiles set it off. There are a few modern (well reasonably...

We were greeted by very friendly staff, the room was pleasant and clean, it was a decent size and the bed was very comfortable. There is plenty of parking and the motel is situated in a handy location.

Academy Motor Lodge is located about a 10 to 15-minute drive away from the city centre. We arrived in Christchurch on a rainy day. We were greeted warmly by the owner who was very prompt in offering us help about the city. Our Standard Studio room fitted 3 adults just nice. It was cozy, very clean and comfortable. The shower...

Stayed for three nights. The location is excellent if you need to be close to the university. The owner is very friendly and willing to help with information about how to get about in the city. The room was compact and very well equipped. It heard that they used to have a cafe earlier and it would be great if...

The location just behind the University suited our purpose very well. The executive room had great facilities. The kitchenette was very well organized and well furnished. The staff were unobtrusive. Toniann, the owner, was very efficient and warm and helpful. She even dropped us to the bus terminal from where we took a tourist bus to Akaroa.

I stayed at the Academy Motor Lodge for three nights in October in one of the executive studios on the ground floor. I booked the room directly from the motel via their website. I was pleasantly surprised by the kitchen facilities in the room. I had two burners, a microwave, a refrigerator and lots of pots, pans, plates, etc. Overall,...
