We stayed one night at the lodge and were definitely in love with the place . The view is just ...crazy! The amazing point is that you can fell that this castle is run by a nice family that want to make his guests happy. We had a great price for one night and would recommend you to stay here...

We had a first floor corner room and the view was stunning in every direction. Nicely appointed room, comfortable. Castle gardens lovely. Dinner in the castle a treat. A very romantic, peaceful stay. Wish we'd had another night. Reminiscent of Scotland.

Really enjoyed our stay in the old stables- a very comfortable refurbishment of the old stable block - keeping the original features but good facilities. Great breakfast every morning. Lovely to be able to wander around the grounds when all the other tourists had gone.

This was our favorite place we stayed in New Zealand. We had a beautiful view from our room. The grounds are beautiful. The landscaping and the castle were just amazing. We had dinner in the Castle one night, which was very good. The lodge booked our excursion with Elm Wildlife Tour & Cruise. They picked us up at the Castle...

We arrived in Dunedin in brilliant sunshine, had lunch and watched the headland on which Larnach Castle is located being consumed by low cloud. Undeterred we made our way up the hill (a bit tricky with 50m visibilty) and checked in. We were on a first floor lodge and there was no-one to help with luggage up the stairs, so...

Arrived evening in the clouds and woke next morning still in the clouds! Obviously no fault of the hotel! Woke the following morning to glorious scenery; well worth the wait. We had dinner in the castle which was very good. You eat around a baronial table with the other guests so there was plenty of lively conversation. The walk around...

The view from our room was stunning; it was definitely the best view I have had from any hotel room. Our room was comfortable and a bit quirky-all the rooms are themed and are all different. If you stay here you have free access to the castle and grounds. Breakfast is included-you eat in the stables opposite the lodge and in...

The only castle in NZ is worth a visit and worth a stay. The location high on a hill affords amazing views of the Otago Peninsula. Definitely worth exploring both the inside of the castle and the gorgeous, well-kept grounds. The rooms in the Lodge are comfortable with great views and breakfast was good. The location is also great for...

We visited Larnarch Castle in December 2016. The coolness of the day did not detract from the magnificent views of Port Chalmers Harbour. The interesting history of the castle to the present day is told by one of the many tour guides, dressed in traditional scottish clothes. As a gardener I was delighted at the manicured lawns and the alignment and...

My wife and I stayed for two nights in a upper lodge corner room with a panoramic views of the Octago Peninsular .The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, although the bathroom had no storage space. We had a good cooked English breakfast in the stables. We asked for and received a comprehensive breakfast tray as we had to leave...
