Trip back to the 1960's,cold ,shabby ,stuff didn't work (kettle TV remote).Noisey .needs double glazing.Nice comfy couches in the bar, friendly and attentive staff, cleaners could do a more thorough job,we fond the tv remote battery's under the bed. In desperate need of a renovation.

We were on the third floor and had a twin room. The room and bathroom were very spacious, unfortunately the traffic noise from the road below was a bit loud. The hotel supplies earplugs, that helped. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the place was nice and clean. We went to the bar a few times and enjoyed it, their...

The hotel is located within walking distance of the Octagon. The room is clean and sufficient. Limited free parking so you may need to pay to park on the street during the day. Nights are free for street parking.

Stayed Nov, 2016. While the Hotel is older, it's ok and walking distance to many things. The staff is friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi was slow or did not work in my room mostly, a major problem for me. It was free where it worked. Surprised they don't have cheap extenders to fix the problem. There was limited parking for the...

The staff are friendly, but the public areas are quite dated. This hotel sits above a pub, with the reception on the other side of the bar. We checked in smoothly and were directed to the lift. The public areas are in desperate need of modernisation. The building is sound, but everything just feels dated. When you walk via the...

We were in Dunedin for the weekend recently and stayed at the Law Courts Hotel. We chose to stay there so that we were close to the Octagon. Being able to leave our car in the carpark and walk everywhere that we needed to go all weekend was great. Our room was on the 3rd floor. It was nice and...

Seem like the rooms were newly renovated with a modern touch (something you won't expect judging from the classic building of the hotel). It was very clean, comfortable and big. The door however had the keyhole (which is no longer in use) and basically anyone can peep through the room from the hole (suggest to cover the hole with tissue...

Until now I don't think I've ever deliberately avoided eating or drinking at a hotel I'm staying in...until now. The whole place reeked of frying oil, the fixtures and fittings were old and tired and the few patrons looked surly and unfriendly. To top it off a member of staff barged into our room (no internal lock) after the most...

Tiny room with even tinier shower. Was supposed to have a room with a city view. Picture attached of the tiny window looking into another building. Location is good but for the price it's not worth it.

Everything you would wish to see is within walking distance. Very close to Dunedin train station and the Octagon. Very old building and lift. Small room but still comfortable and clean. Parking available next to the building
