We booked a room with a king bed, kitchenette, and free parking during what appeared to be the peak of the tourist season. The traffic on Frankton Road was non-stop, even at night. We had the end room on the second floor, facing the highway, so we were constantly aware of the traffic...but we also had the advantage of seeing fantastic views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables, right from our window, and the sunsets were spectacular. As for our room, it was clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The kitchenette was well-stocked and we had a parking place off the street, right in front of our room. Walking into the city center took about 15 minutes along the highway and a bit longer when we went through the gardens. However, during our two-month vacation in New Zealand, we encountered no other city as overrun with tourists as Queenstown, so although we were very satisfied with the accommodations at Queenstown Motel Apartments, I doubt that we will be returning to the city on future trips.

We are return guests as this motel is fabulous. The apartments are immaculately clean and designed to make maximum use of the space. The kitchenette was well stocked with cooking equipment, mini fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Parking and unlimited wifi is free. There is a guest laundry on site. Diane and Vanessa are the prefect hosts. Thank you for a wonderful stay once again.

We booked the lake view studio, it was fully stocked, excellent bed, Great shower and fully equipped kitchenette. Wifi was good, TV channels of limited interest, a lot of reality TV and old British repeats. Dianne and her delightful daughter were lovely people and very helpful. The studios are only a 5 minute walk to the beach if you go via the gardens. The only real issue was the traffic noise as we were on the main road. It abates between 10pm and 6am. I use wax earplugs so couldn't hear the traffic, you do get used to it and the view is worth it.

The Queenstown Apartments Motel is well located, not central but a nice approximate 10 minute walk to downtown. The room was well appointed with a small kitchen. Very clean. We were in unit 1, close to the road but with a nice view.

We were saddened that the Millenium Hotel cancelled our booking with late notice and no explanation , so we looked for another place to stay either side of walking the Routeburn Trail. We stayed here, a couple of hundred yards from the Hotel.
We were given a lovely warm welcome, the apartment was clean, comfy and just what we needed. We asked if we could leave our luggage with them whilst we walked the trail and they couldn’t have been more accommodating, we had a different room 3 days later and they had our suitcase in there.
We were able to have a hot bath, walk for 10 mins into Queenstown ( downhill into town, uphill home) for our final evening, before a lovely sleep pre flight home.
Perfect.
Will use again next visit to the South Island.

A very dated property with stains on carpet, worn out furniture, shower curtain with mould! We almost decided to go somewhere else! The location of the property is good but everything else is extremely bad! This was the worst accommodation we have stayed in New Zealand in our stay of 3 weeks travelling across both islands. Don’t stay in this motel. It is not of acceptable standard! The property next door was cheaper and so much better.

We stayed 5 nights without problem and enjoyed our stay. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. Free parking was useful for us and there was a clothes washing room. Only 5 minute walk into the centre of town but it’s up hill walking back. Our only criticism was the free Wifi, it was painful slow to the point of being useless, we ended up using our own cellphone data to use the internet.

No hot water on arrival, complained and told it was fixed. Still no hot water by afternoon or even next morning and evening. Tried ringing at 5.30 pm. Took 32 phone calls to contact management by 8 p.m Eventually got key to different room. No apology - no discount. Would not stay again or recommend.

Stayed for 1 night en-route from the airport to Te Anau. The room was clean & functional. Location is just opposite a stop used by the airport bus, so very convenient if you do not have a car. It's a 10 minute walk (down a fairly steep hill) into the centre of Queenstown. Unfortunately, there were quite major roadworks outside the motel. This did not affect our stay - except it was trick to locate the motel behind all the construction stuff.

I booked and paid for a superior unit and only got a dump of a room. no view , small shower no cleaning done during my 5 night stay and no coffee or tea replaced, only one complimentary small amount neither did we get any toiletries. this place looks nothing like advertised and still is to far away from town. Absolutely unsuitable for any one with any type of disability. there are steps every where and some rooms have unsafe bathtubs only , no handrails or no slip matt. this is a very noisy place day and night. I would never go there again. microwave was to high for me to reach. this place is absolutely overpriced. there is never any one in the office. you need to get your groceries in Frankton well out of town
