We have been here previously and we enjoy the lake views and proximity to downtown. On arrival the lady at reception couldn't have been more helpful. Very friendly, which was appreciated after a day travelling.
I give 1 star to The guy who work night shift on 9th March on Tuesday. I do not think he got ability to work in the 4 star hotel. I am not happy with his attitude. We stay 2 nights, we are happy with that, so we decided stay now more night. We booked online, pay the same price, same lake view room. But the guy refuse to check in for us, and let's check in in the morning, but we check the staff, as a customer, we can check in what ever we like. Second, the guy said we must move out the room, and change to another one. When we finished packed all our baggage, check in for another night in the morning, another guy said we can stay the same room. OMG. I talked the manager, the manager say nothing, even the word sorry. Sorry.will never go back. For sure.
My wife and I were touring New Zealand, on a 15-day tour arranged through Travelmarvel by APT, and so all hotel arrangements were made in advance by them. For that reason, I have no idea of the cost of the room or how well the hotel communicates with customers making direct bookings. However, I can say that this was our favourite hotel of the ten we used on the tour. The view from our room was stunning, looking directly cross Lake Wakatipu to the mountains beyond. The walk into town is pleasant and relatively short, but if the weather is poor, or you simply prefer not to walk, there is a shuttle bus into town which leaves from the nearby Millennium Hotel every hour. The Millennium is only a five- minute walk from the Copthorne Lakeview. Our room had a large terrace, with a great view across the lake, as already mentioned. The bed was large and comfortable, and the room also had an iron & ironing board, hairdryer, fridge, television and a safe. Breakfast was very good, but the restaurant was very busy every morning. That wasn’t surprising, given that our tour group was large and there were other guests in the hotel. There were some signs of age in the hotel, but nothing that would stop me from recommending it to anyone planning a stay in Queenstown. I will attach photos to this review to show the room and the views from our terrace.…
My wife and I stayed here for one night only, passing through, heading for Otago Rail Trail. The hotel is getting a little tired but is very clean and tidy and what a fantastic location for a hotel. The lakeview was well worth the cost of the room. Large, generous balcony. The breakfast buffet was value for money and I'd recommend it to you.
Recently stayed here. Great view, great location, good price at the time Few things to note: When made booking, asked if both Bedrooms had views to the mountains/lake - was told yes - however, one bedroom did - the other had a view to a brick wall. Ordered room service one night - took nearly an hour so rang to find out delay. Was told system was down and didn’t take my name down so couldn’t ring us back. Too late to get food. Furniture in bar area very outdated and in need of repair badly. Place a bit tired - painting needs updating. Heating in room didn’t work - gave me a portable heater.
