It's a budget accommodation for solo traveller. The shower is good and high-pressure. The kitchen is shared and all facilities are included, but not good quality. It takes you 5 min to walk to supermarket Fresh Choice, which is a big one and you can find many things in it, even Tofu.

Terrific value, excellent location, perfect for couples or groups. Easy walking distance to town but far away enough you can get a good nights sleep before hitting the slopes, without being kept up by the noise of the town. Rooms are basic but clean, spacious, and most importantly warm! Set up with individual rooms which centre around a shared kitchen,... More

We stayed for 4 nights in February 2015. Pinewood was absolutely fine. Frankly, if this is where you choose, you won't be mega disappointed and nor will you be particularly impressed. But it's fine, it does the job, and it's pretty convenient. The room was clean enough, big comfy bed, and would have slept 4. At only $90 per night,... More

We recently stayed 4 nights in a room that shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful and full of local knowledge and information. However, we were not impressed with their cleaning regime. Our toilets did not get cleaned for 2 days and boy did they reek. The toilets are unisex so ladies expect the seats to be left up and... Sorry but this was an expensive night stay. The bed comfortable, shower in a cupboard! toilet had no lock (and downstairs) and floor yuk. washing area open. Shared facilities in unit very grubby, carpet looked like a party was held there the night before and some furniture tired and very worn. Definitely in need of major TLC. However very friendly... Queenstown is a very busy, tourist town but Pinewood is located 10 minutes from the noisy hub, making it perfect for those seeking some peace and quiet. There are rooms for singles, couples and families, depending on your needs. Our double ensuite room backed onto the pine forest and included a shared kitchen for ourselves and five other rooms. Our... More

Great location, being close to town but not right in the mix. Close to grocery shops as well, and 5-10 mins walk to all the activities in Queenstown. The room was great and the communal kitchen/lounge area was well-stocked. The free wifi was very patchy, sometimes only worked if you sat in a particular spot in the communal area, sometimes... This was my first hostel experience, and it was okay. This certainly is not the way I would want to travel regularly. I think I am just too old for this scene. This place was filled with loud college-aged students, which is not ideal. My room itself was comfortable - definitely not plush accommodations, but reasonable for this type of... More
