We arrived and the place looked deserted. We called and got the manager who said our room was unlocked and gave us directions to find it. There is no clear reception area despite a sign saying reception that leads you into a space with no office or information. The room was clean and comfortable. For me there's nothing like waking...

We booked for one night, $600 kiwi. We we arrived we were directed by phone on how to get to our room. No one greeted us and breakfast was not included. Not sure how a B&B can get away with it. I always thought some food was included. Anyway, we just slept and left. Very informal set up. The wifi...

We booked this place after a friend highly highly recommended it having stayed there herself 3 years ago. And we were really disappointed! All the excellent reviews are now invalid since the ownership and management have apparently changed. The new owners don't seem to care. And the new manager doesn't give a damn about service. The entire set up is...

We arrived in Queenstown on short notice, and most hotels were booked. We stayed at Pencarrow for five nights. It was spotlessly clean, with very good service. There is new management / ownership, and they appear to us to be newcomers to the business. Very nice, but there were distinct clues in the food service and otherwise that the other...

The fact that this property does not have a single review less than 5/5 and is "ranked" #5 is seriously making me start to question TripAdvisor...anyways, there are not enough positive adjectives in the English language to describe how amazing our honeymoon experience was at Pencarrow. From the unexpected pickup at the airport, to the beautiful property and suite, to...

I was looking for a luxury resort for a 4 day stay in Queenstown. We were going for the accommodation as not planning our usual action packed holiday but just r&r. The suite was faultless. Kari has attention to detail+++. All needs met by either Kari or Bob. Food plentiful and accommodating to our likes. The view from the lighthouse...

Bill and Kari made our visit to Queenstown delightful and effortless. Their inn is comfortable and roomy with stunning views of the Remarkable Mountains and Lake Wakatipu. They are pleasant and engaging hosts, leading interesting and well informed conversations at cocktails and at breakfast. They went out of their way to accommodate every need we had (or thought we had),...

Most important is for those who read this to be confident that I am not affiliated with the property in any manner. I have traveled to more than 100 countries; this was my first visit to Queenstown, New Zealand. My initial email to Pencarrow was met with a prompt and detailed reply with options; I knew from that moment that...

Kari greeted us at the airport and we followed her in our rental car to the beautiful Pencarrow. We took pictures even before going inside! The garden is beautiful; the view of Lake Wakatipu and the mountain range is magnificent. Once inside, we chose our rooms and found a thoughtful note, home baking, candies...and gifts waiting for us. The rooms...

“There are two suites on the first floor and two suites on the second floor; I was in the lower left one-bedroom suite... I loved it as I had doors onto the lower terrace... a special place. There is a wonderfully-placed hot tub; no pool or fitness center (I could not remove the rating for those above; sorry). But, in Queenstown there is no need for either since you are always moving!”
