Clean rooms and facilities. We stayed in a private room which had a comfortable double bed and a tv not that we used it. The staff are very friendly and were happy to help with anything. The hostel has unlimited free wifi which is pretty slow during peak times but if you're around in off peak times it's quite fast....

We stayed here for 3 nights and would have probably changed hostels if there was any vancancies around Queenstown. Stayed in a four bed dorm, Very very small room with no lockers or charging stations anywhere close to bed. There's a little kitchen and one tiny shower for 8 people. Everything especially in the kitchen is very very old!!! Not...

Management response:

Hi Olivia I'm sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your stay with us here at Southern Laughter. Many of our share rooms have private kitchens that many guests appreciate as it enables them to avoid the two large main kitchens and lounge areas, there is a table on the private balcony. The hostel has multiple showers throughout as well...

This hostel had a great little community feel and an awesome location. We were in a double room for 2 nights that was part of a small unit. Although the facilities were quite old everything was kept relatively clean. The price was also excellent considering just how much everything else costs in Queenstown at this time of year! The staff...

Southern Laughter is one of the weirdest Hostels I have ever been to, but one of my favorites too (probably because I have so many good memories of that place). The outside and inside of the hostel is decorated with a weird mixture of old pictures, farming equipment and especially a lot of bad jokes which you either love or...

Its a big hostel but has a very relaxed atmosphere and a lot of free stuff. Of course free WiFi but evenmore free popcorn, free chill con carne (Promotion for Pub crawls), free international calls and a hot tub. On the other Hand it has only some and small showers and restrooms.

Stayed in four bed dorm which had a shared kitchen and bathroom with another four bed dorm. Beds and facilities clean, however not all power points in the room worked. The wifi was very troublesome and often would not connect, or would be very slow when it was connected.

Great staff, location; bad wifi in rooms Stayed at Sir Cedric for 2 nights with my two friends. They had free soup and were located in a good location. The staff was amazing and let us use the phone for tours. The wifi didn't work in the rooms at all, but was good in public areas.

Good location (if you can manage steep hills). We stayed in a private double room. The rooms were ok, very basic, with just a bed and a side cabinet, rubbish pillows, but clean. Kitchen area is fine if you don't end up in there at the same time as the very rude cleaners... but at least they were cleaning! Staff...

I'll start with the positives, the staff are really friendly and helpful. Comfy beds, hot and powerful showers and a large kitchen. Fantastic location with free parking. It's a shame that the way the hostel is set out means that the social areas are above the rooms, so it's just too loud (though guests could be more considerate), walls are...

This place is very well kept and cleaned. The location is very convenient and they offer a good variety of perks, my favorite being the free hot tub! Staff are friendly and helpful, and other guests were also cool. Only drawback I can say is the Wi-Fi, most of the time it's slow and sometimes it doesn't work.
